Head of a Traveler by Nicholas Blake  Pocket Books 742  1st Printing  November 1950    $20

Had another copy of this sick severed head cover by Warren Baumgartner.

Fine plus.   Square, glossy and tight, hairline reader crease, light edge wear.

  2. I probably won’t submit many. Cost and storage space. I don’t intend to sell any. They look very pretty in Mylar so what’s the point?

The ones I do will be done if they are high grade or ones I just love the covers for. Trying to get some of the pricier ones done before the prices push them over the top.

So many still fall into the “value” tier. Once graded, I suspect they will tip over to the next tier. So trying to beat the rush as prices rise. Also trying to get some of the more unusual and ones I think are overlooked done.

I’ll post the other ones I submitted when I get them back.

I will be there Friday and Saturday and then heading over Sunday to the Chicago Toy Show.  I am not much of a toy collector, but have heard that it is a cool convention to check out.

The Chicago Toy Show is one of the best shows of its kind in the US. Or at least it used to be. I haven’t been in maybe 8 years. Lots of amazing eye candy. And I have even found old comics there.

I think the McCauley is going to do surprisingly well.  Reefer Girl might just go crazy, too.

Did a boardie happen to win an obscure Bolles this weekend on eBay?  I was underbidder and have a proposition if you did... (not the sort of thing you'll see me asking too often :frustrated:)  PM ME

    But while I'm here, Bolles

and one of a *lovely* batch of Judge I scanned and bagged tonight:

    Love that Halloween issue!

yeh Bob on the Submissions tracking page, click on the Submission link and then click on the Line Item link and it brings you to the Verify Cert page with the grader's notes and the scans

Thanks Andy. I got through and was able to see the graders notes but there is no scan. Maybe they haven’t posted it yet? Or maybe I have to pay extra for it? I did check the census page and my copy is not listed yet. I’m a GA collector. One thing I have learned is patience…

They're briefcases for the office. Top level execs like to demonstrate that they busy themselves at home with only the most important matters and therefore don't carry thick briefcases.

There could be more than four and of course in a multiplicity of colours.

In addition to the briefcases SPP also released binders:

It seems  that the Digger, Daddy, Davey and Freddy Flameout binders listed in the above catalogue were available in red, yellow, green and black. Here are some pictures I've managed to find:

SPP also released at least two more Weird-Ohs binders not shown in the above catalogue:

    3GC6ns.jpg

So I count at least six different binders. Each was perhaps available in red, yellow, green, black and perhaps even teal. Plus at least one pencil case:

I'm not sure how many different pencil cases there were or in how many different colours. All I know for sure is that any self-respecting Hawk Weird-Ohs enthusiast needs to have them all!

    :headbang:

Cool! Never have owned the binders or pencil cases.

Those LP's are wild cool! I remember seeing one of the "Big Daddy" Roth ones when I was actively accumulating vinyl LP's circa 1970. I have one other "Big Daddy" Roth LP you've not pictured:

I like to relax to the sweet sounds of Rods 'n Ratfinks:

But I don't have the Weird-Ohs or Silly Surfers LP's. I take it that yours are two separate albums. I believe I've seen an LP with the Weird-Ohs on the front of the sleeve and the Silly Surfers on the back.

    (shrug)

Yes, 2 separate albums. I photographed both sides..
