  1. Then later I spotted this sitting the gound next to a guy's table. It is a counter top rack. It spins with 8 pockets and has a two sided sign on top. I confired with a couple comic guys at the show and we all agreed that it was probably late 1950's. Made my day!
  2. Had a great flea market day out here on the west coast. I feel for you boardies on the east coast. I know you love the "change of seasons" but I bet some of you wish it would change soon... Got the two romance comics from one lady and the rest from another. She had more funny animals but they were marginal titles like CooCoo and Tick Tock Tales in lower grade.
  3. I know. Those real short runs are just impossible some times. I've been looking for Starlet O'Hara #2 forever and there is only 4 issues in that run. But that is the challenge that makes this fun. I will have to keep my eyes peeled for those last two Forbidden Loves...
  4. But find of the day was this! It was later in the day and I was coming back from a rest room break when I spotted this sitting on the ground next to a guy's table. It is a real cool size and was probably ment to be on a counter top. It's a mini spinner with 8 slots and a double sided top sign. I have never seen one like this. I asked a few comic guys out there and we all came to the agreement that we think it's from the late 1950's. I grabbed a couple proper era comics to put in it and took this fast photo for you. Buy of the Day! (and sales were strong all day too)...
  5. The finder of the "Paul" collection came by my booth with a surprise too. I guess he is still going through boxes and finds a few stray comics mixed in with other books and magazines. Got a real good deal on these 3:
  6. OK, it's Monday so time for the Sunday flea market report. I did really well. I had a booth but was able to walk around for a while early. It was a perfect day weatherwise. I feel for you back east guys but you all seem to enjoy that "change of seasons" bet you wish you were the guy that came into my booth yesterday. He was from Addamstown, PA. We had a good talk about the good places to find stuff. He was wearing a tank top and shorts and was just giddy! Anyway, first up came from two sellers. The two romance books from one lady ($2. each) and the Dells from another. She had a lot more but they were all titles like CooCoo, Tip Top Tales and other marginal funny animal titles and lower grade. She wanted $4. each for these. I particularly like the Nellie the Nurse #4 and had never seen the Famous Fairy Tales giveaway. Nice Kelly art in most of the rest. Was so tired I just had time for the photo so I won't get to really look at them until tonight. How did I do?
  7. Those Forbidden Loves are cool. I have #1 and seen #2 but have never seen #3,4. I have 3 of the 4 Strange Confessions. Still missing #3 but have seen it from time to time. I'm not really a romance collector but do have quite a few in my collection especially if they have wild covers.
  8. Busy week this week but I'll try and dig it out over the weekend.
  9. Sorry Mitch, no Johnny Dynamite but do have Johnny Danger I believe. I'm pretty sure I have #1 with a cool photo cover and an opium club story!
  10. No, I don't have that club kit, nor have I've ever seen it. Nice to know it exists. I will be looking for one. Too bad they don't picture the button. Thanks for posting this!
  11. I collect comic book club items (even non US clubs) and have never seen one. Perhaps Stephen could look through his books and tell us. I would love to see what one looks like if one exists!
  12. Hey Boardies Happy Valentines Day! Here's a couple of cool ones in the festive spirit. Please feel free to post any you've got here. I'd love to see yours!
  13. Posted these over in my thread the other day with some other G-Man stuff but thought they should probably fit in here too if you didn't see them.
  14. Great book Dr.! I picked up a similar copy at Wonder Con last year pretty cheap. An impulse buy. A great read cover to cover. (I am a big baseball fan so it wasn't hard). Love Eisner.
  15. What is the story on the "New Brunswick Collection"? Was it precode horror stuff? Atlas? Always like to know the back story on "finds". Looks like some cool books!
  16. Ajax/Farrell is one of my favorite pre-code publishers. I probably should post some. Here's a cool one. Has a twisted nazi concentration camp story.
  17. Yeah, cool book. I always thought that looked like Frankenstein.
  18. Here's something else you might like. Character dime banks. I don't know about you guys but mine would probably always be empty because I'd be spending all those dimes on GA comics!
  19. OK, you twisted my arm... Here is an interesting bunch. You all have seen Reform School Girl and many of you own one but how about the Digest? This one even has the elusive page 3 and 4 which was torn out of most copies. And the icing on the cake... How many of you have seen Reform School Skunk!
  20. Aww, you're making me blush Mitch. When are you going to come on and blow this thread out of the water???
  21. Thanks. I mostly collect pulps for the covers. These two certianly grabbed my eyes! I have a few more I think, but these are the best covers.
  22. Cool, thanks for looking Bang. Too bad it doesn't actually show it. What year is it from? Here's another cool very early comic book club. Probably not much out there from this comic but I've got this... I've got a lot more but I'll post them over in my thread when I get the time.
