  1. Sorry Brian, I forgot and gave it to the kid down the street on Sat before the show. I'll bet you really had to whine and beat that guide to get that BEAUTIFUL Star Spangled #92 outta Jim!
  2. Good to finally meet you "officially" in my alter ego persona Hap. Glad you like the book. Sorry it wasn't better but I upgraded that to a nice Crippen copy a while back and didn't need two. I was kinda surprised it stayed on the wall so long at Terry's show. I'm just a small collector and I think a lot of the "big boys" just passed me by. I had a lot of obscure books, cover books and not a whole lot of Marvels and GA DC's ect on my wall. I brought about 5 long boxes of 1/2 guide SA DC's/Marvels and only came home with about 1/2 of them. Was a great show.
  3. Yeah, the best kept secret in comics for a while. That is some collection. The original buyer sold a lot on ebay so there are a lot floating around out there. I posted a bunch of them in this thread when I first came on. I've got a lot more. Not necessarily "splashy" books but a lot of real cool obscure stuff. I was pretty obscessed for a while when they were first coming out.
  4. Yeah, Jim showed me that copy but I already had one just about as nice. Glad you got it. I got a couple war bond Dells, a couple Baker cover Northwest Mounties and Authentic Police Cases and a few more. He's got another pile he has been holding back. Probably the nicest Supe #32 I have ever seen. ("It Tickles" cover). I hadn't seen a lot of the humor books. He got to those before me and bought them all. Not superhero but still some cool stuff. Good to finally meet you Brian. You are a crazy guy!
  5. Love the "Hell of a Woman" Pat. Kind of like an adult Farmer's Daughter comic. I'll post some for you guys when I get the chance. I half expected the old broad to have her leg stuck out too! That's a "twofer" I think I'd pass on...
  6. Harley had the Church copy at the show today - it was a beauty. Nice chatting with you in person, I had no idea you had all this cool stuff in your collection! Good to see you at Terry's show yesterday Steve. Yeah, I saw Harley's Church copy. If only I was as rich as all you guys...
  7. Much love for Popeye here. This is my favorite Popeye original art from my collection That is sooo cool Bill! I love the coloring. I don't have much art but years ago I picked up a cool daily with Popeye and Olive Oyl on annother planet.
  8. Cool pulp Bang! I've never seen any of this title. I like this one best. Are you printing these in your basement???
  9. VERY cool book and a beautiful copy. I've only got a few McRaboy Masters but I think I want more now!
  10. Damn! You're having a better Monday than I am. What a feat, the whole run. Save the best for last?
  11. Love the "Hell of a Woman" Pat. Kind of like an adult Farmer's Daughter comic. I'll post some for you guys when I get the chance.
  12. How about Mystery Tales #22? Great Matt Fox cover and pretty hard to find.
  13. Mystery Tales #10. Love this melting cover!
  14. And also in the Horror vein (so to speak) Here is Mystery Tales #7: (un-marked "Paul" copy if it matters to anyone but me).
  15. Annother cool Farrell. Fantastic #5 First Ditko story...
  16. While I was in the Farrell box I found a favorite. Voodoo #5. This has a sick Nazi concentration camp story...
  17. Some one asked me if I had a Voodoo #8. Here you go:
  18. And, while I am at it. Any love for Popeye? These are 1930's-1940's:
  19. Yeah, he was great guy. Taught me a whole lot about GA comics. Even though he sold no back issues, it was my favorite comic store. Do you remember the long wall of framed Jack Kirby original pages and covers? I think it was $100. For a page and $150. For a cover. I think he and Jack were friends. If I only new then what I know now... He is pretty old but still around. I saw him at SD a few years back. Did you know John Versyl? He had a great little shop up in Alhambra with lots of old comics before he moved to Texas.
  20. I've had a few extras over the years but not now. Check Ted Hakes auctions. He has had them from time to time. Not easy to find because they broke and got lost easliy. I will keep you in mind if I ever find another one...
  21. My favorite Lightning cover and Bang up #1:
