100% agree. As someone who (sadly) ONCE (and luckily once only) bought from Robojo (advertised 9.8, really a 9.2), the pics are the dead giveaway that Robojo and kellysuperheroes are one and the same. Same angle. Same inability to zoom. Oh, and same overgrading. The "9.8" Star Wars #1 I'm looking at has at least five discolored corners between front and back, and one glaring front cover spine stress. No one should ever buy from this individual.

Both eBay and PayPal can quickly counter OP's assertion with "well how do we KNOW that you REALLY sent the book you're claiming that the buyer stole. Maybe you really are the scammer, and YOU sent that hardcover to start with..." In a situation like this, probably the only foolproof way for a seller to prove that he/she did indeed send the book(s) in question would be to video the entire process. And I mean non-stop. Starting with packing, all the way through the drive and drop off at the post office. Tripe J's assertion that "The buyer isn't simply always right, ebay empowers buyers with what amounts to diplomatic immunity." is spot on. eBay's policy is "Buyer first, buyer second, buyer third. Sellers can have relations with themselves." Horror stories like this are why I will NEVER sell a high dollar book on eBay, I always consign with people I know I can trust.

The latest ComicLink auction kicked off on the 11th, and the 9.2 with CR-OW pages is already up to $5900. My 9.2 ow/w sold for $100 less a little over one week ago. It'll be interesting to see where the CLink book ends up with 12 days to go until auction close.

Sadly, I think you're right that Disney's (lack of) braintrust is going to draw the completely wrong conclusions from fan reaction to the last two films (I can't comment on the merits of "Solo" because I was never really interested in seeing it, mainly because a Han Solo origin movie never held any appeal for me). The worst part of an old vs. new conclusion would be that the audience at large is already drawn to the new cast, The Force Awakens clearly proved that with its box office haul. A blind man can see that the backlash over The Last Jedi has nothing to do with old vs. new, it's because TLJ suffers from many of the same maladies that Episodes I - III do -- bad -script, hokey subplots, "name" actors forced into roles they don't fit, and that overall "fake" feeling. I was watching TFA for about the 40th time last night, and one thing that I especially love about that movie is that it brought back a sense of realness to Star Wars. In addition to the characters actually feeling human (for lack of a better term) in their interactions, TFA has many nuances that serve to raise the audience's emotion level -- the transports hitting the ground under fire in the opening scene and the Stormtroopers immediately come pouring out shouting orders and firing, the X-Wings coming in from the horizon kicking up a wave of water for cover, even something as small as BB8's reactions to situations. Does TFA have its faults, like being a bit too derivative of IV - VI at times? Sure. But is it a whole heck of a lot of fun to watch? You better bleeping believe it. TLJ was missing all of that. I legitimately feel bad for the cast taking heat from the social media warriors over TLJ though, because it wasn't their fault the movie sucks. They did the best with what they had, in fact they alone probably saved TLJ from being an Attack of the Clones level mess/unintentional comedy (I seriously can't watch watch Hayden Christensen whining "I hate them!" without nearly laughing myself to tears). Give the audience what they want to see, and they'll show up in droves. Tell them what they want to see, and they'll show you a bunch of middle fingers. Is Disney's ego too big to listen? I guess we'll see.

It's actually a Stan Lee SS 9.8 according to the book's details. But still...$30k... indeed If memory serves, a blue label ow/w 9.8 went for under $17k recently (ComicLink auction I think).

Look outside of eBay at some of the major sellers for how many 181s they have available. Last time I looked, Pedigree, the Reece’s, and ComicLink’s exchange all had none, and I believe Metropolis only had one copy. Demand is largely driving the spike, and it isn’t a recent phenomenon. Back in 2016 I saw my 9.6 nearly double in fmv in the span of six months. The question becomes do you expect to see a flood of copies onto the market in the future which will drive prices down to a level you consider reasonable, or is it better to strike now? Only you can answer that. Also, green label prices won’t be all that much cheaper for a copy that presents well.

Valid points. To the contrary, we’ve seen the Phoenix fiasco already played out in The Last Stand, so this could be a “been there, done that” situation for the fans. The capitalist in me certainly wouldn’t mind if the Dark Phoenix books spiked though...sell sell sell!

That might come to pass if anyone actually wanted to see Dark Phoenix. Anticipated flops don’t tend to lead to speculation on the source material.

I wonder how many books might be counted multiple times within the census though due to pressings & yellow labels? All it takes is for a book to be re-subbed without its original label, or for CGC to receive the label but not remove it from the census?

The “Wolverine” that appears in FOOM 2 is a reader submission for some contest they were running. I’m guessing Marvel doesn’t want to acknowledge it as an appearance because their Wolverine bears some obvious similarities (maybe they took some inspiration from it?).

Regarding the pressing, it’s impossible to assess if it would help without seeing the book. As for adding Stan, I would emphatically say no to that for the following reasons — his signature is everywhere, it is very hit or miss these days due to age, lord knows where he will sign (and you can’t crack the book on your own to prep it), and he really had no role in the production of the issue (I’m a bit of signature purist).

Based on current price trends, I'd say not a chance. The market is probably going to plateau at some point, but demand for the book is so high at the moment that a downward correction in pricing doesn't seem to be in the works any time soon. DO NOT SETTLE for a non-blue/yellow label book.

I also didn't realize this show was still even on, but more to the point I couldn't remember why I never watched it to begin with...until I watched this clip, which definitely reminded me why.
