  1. No joke! Next year I'm taking that March Madness throne though! (Now that I've typed that, I'll probably be eliminated in the seeding round...)
  2. What exactly did @Betty-Bates accuse anyone of?
  3. I get what you're saying, but at the same time how much joy can it really bring a person when they aren't even interacting with the fans (probably under strict orders from the vulture posse)? Sit there for two hours and sign "Stan Lee" over and over. Don't look up, don't talk, don't shake hands, nuthin'. Now shuffle off to the camera, and sit there for two hours while people are herded through for a four second photo op. Again, no looking, no talking, no hand shaking. Wash, rinse, repeat. Maybe that still does bring him joy, I don't know the man so who am I to say? But I do wonder how much he's simply being led around by people who are in his ear constantly re-assuring him that he's making people happy without having to (or worse, being able to) put any of his own thought into the situation. Because full capacity Stan could easily tell the hangers on to go F themselves and he'd conduct himself at appearances however he wanted. Shake hands, kiss babies, all the fanfare. After all, HE is Stan Lee, not Keya Morgan or any of the other vultures.
  4. Simple, it's eBay. You're the seller, he's the buyer. Ergo, you're automatically guilty until proven innocent.
  5. Something keeps nagging at me -- what is his daughter doing setting up her own booth at this event? If she's (apparently) so concerned for Stan's well being, why isn't SHE by his side 24/7 rather than a few hired goons? And then there's this: "Unable to reach her father at the show last night or this morning, and on the advice of her lawyer, she told me she had decided to leave the show early this morning and head home." So...why did the lawyer say "go home", and why did she agree? This is some messed up chit.
  6. I've always taken "CGC Ready" to mean that the book is emotionally prepared to go to CGC, i.e. it won't keep getting nervous and urinating uncontrollably as you try to pack it up for shipping to Florida. I mean there has to be a certain percentage of books out there that simply don't have the nerves to handle such an arduous trip, right?
  7. Now that you mention this, I believe this happened to my ASM 300 listing a couple months ago. I had just relisted it at a firm BIN price, but I got a best offer almost right away. I figured I just goofed and accidentally enabled the Best Offer option, but maybe eBay pulled a fast one on me? More of an annoyance than anything though, I just declined the offer and (re)disabled it.
  8. Sad to hear that Stan has gone from one vulture to another. Max was "like a son", this Keya guy is a supposed 10 year "close friend and partner", and yet neither one has any issue with dragging a man in his mid-90s around like a cash machine. I thought things would finally change when the former batch of groupies was shown the door and his daughter was supposedly finally stepping in, but with this SVCC story it seems that she is just as culpable in this whole mess.
  9. That was the first thing I thought when these got publicized - “Hey, the white pages says there’s a Steve Ditko living in Phoenix, maybe he signed this?”
  10. Terrible accident for a great person, am happy to help out once details are ironed out. Get well quick Brittany!
  11. No way, Red Sabretooth Panther looks 100% original...
  12. They need to cast someone who can play totally unhinged in the role of Kasady. I don’t see Woody pulling that off. DaFoe could do it, but he’s already been the Green Goblin of course. Bryan Cranston or John Malkovich could both do it but are too old for the role. However...Aaron Paul perhaps?
  13. They took a long time, popular villain and put a lame paint job on him. What do you think?
  14. "Hi Stan, I'd like this to look really bad, please put an upside down signature on the cover!" Insult would've been complete had he also hit Wolverine and Hulk's faces.
  15. until

Would definitely like to hear reviews of this from both of you. If its a worthwhile jaunt, hopefully next year its at the same location (e.g. not far from the house) and on a different weekend than C2E2!
  16. As an avid non-follower of Marvel's current antics, I had to use the Google machine to look up this "Cosmic Ghost Rider". So they set Frank Castle's head on fire and gave him a motorcycle that looks like a common lawn grub? Wow. Every time Marvel hits a new depth of lame (I'm looking at you Preparation H...I mean Weapon H...), they manage to keep digging deeper. I guess there's something to be said for that kind of tenacity.
  17. Any issue featuring the first appearance of any "new" character that Marvel can come up with -- Red Goblin, Orange Cat, Golden Surfer, Nurse Doom, Mr. Okay, Chinch bug-Man, Human Zippo, Partly Cloudy, Translucent Girl...you get the idea.
  18. All of my books get delivered to the office. A couple weeks ago FedEx told me that FCOBB signed for my 9.0 Hulk 181 around 6:15 pm. No FCOBB exists at my office, and my supervisor was still there at the time. No book in sight. While I was writing criminal complaints in my head and deciding who to sue, FedEx told me it was a mistake and my book would be delivered the next day. Luckily it was. Its scary to think what carrier incompetence could potentially cost one of us.
  19. Not just that, but stolen the invoices while in transit to CGC...which has lead to all those customer books sitting orphaned in Florida! Paradise is 100% innocent! It was the carbon paper bandits all along!!! We've cracked the case!!!
  20. So assuming there was some internal theft occurring at Paradise as claimed, but it did not involved CGC submissions, the theft still wouldn't explain why CGC submissions have been so horrendously delayed. Good facilitation practice generally goes something like: get sigs at con, fill out invoices, drop books with invoices at CGC table prior to leaving con, pay at table or have credit card on file. Really not difficult. The picture is still incomplete.
  21. Maybe they should just put together an amalgamation of bad for the sake of expediency - replace Sophie Turner with Channing Tatum and release "Dark Gambit". I think it needs a catchy subtitle though...
  22. The 8.0 and 8.5 got all in a tizzy after I bought the 9.2 and keep threatening to go solo, so the band is officially breaking up at C2E2. This may very well never happen again, so I'll enjoy it for the next week...
