  1. I did. 1 of 2 @ 9.8. I’ve pretty much been priced out of the market for the 9.8’s, but I do occasionally get lucky and pick them up. Many thanks for picking up this copy. I think you’ll be pleased with it. I will send a PM with PayPal. Paul

  4. Recently added Giant-Size Conan #2 (with a tip of the hat to Batmiesta for the lead-many thanks ). Just need the #1 issue to complete the short set. Paul~
  5. I would agree that #113 & #115 fit into the picture frame motif. Having just looked at Cat #1, I'd also agree that it fits too; especially considering it's cover date and the overall appearance. Paul-
  6. Other than Astonishing Tales Deathlok appearances, Killraven in Amazing Adventures was the comic book that had the most impact on me when I was a kid in Izmir, Turkey in the early to mid-70s. I distinctly remember the two page splash in AA #25 with Buckler/Janson art with Skar's introduction and then later the crazy stuff that P. Craig Russell put out starting with issue #27 (behind that amazing Starlin cover). Here's a few of my favorites. Paul~
  7. Saw this one this weekend. Ouch! Needed some sun screen.
  8. I think I saw them last night scheduled for the April auction. No pictures yet, but descriptions. Thanks for letting us know. Paul 😊
  9. In the latest ComicConnect Auction. Closes tomorrow I think (not mine). Definitely remember this book on the Stars and Stripes Newsstand in Izmir, Turkey. Paul~
  10. Outstanding sir! Did not see the #3 on Heritage or eBay for that matter, but as others have counseled me before, it does pay off to be patient. I decided to dip my toe in the Giant-Size Conan waters and picked this copy up from Dale Roberts. There are a lot of these floating around on the 'net (as Musicmeta says), but I liked the cut of this one's jib more than the others. Fairly well-centered, White pages, 9.8. Paul~
  11. Board Folks, I'm thinking about trying to put together a short set of Giant-Size Conan. I remember reading GS Conan #2 in Turkey (clearly a formative year for me for those of you who have read my previous postings ). As I'm a completest, I didn't want to just buy the one book. I'm OK with 9.6s and OW/W (although like everyone else, I'd prefer White if I can get it and if a 9.8 rears its' head I'm OK with that too). It seems like #1 is the key to the short run, but are there any mine fields that I need to watch out for? I don't want to start on this project and then be short a book. Would you buy the #1 first and then work from there? Opinions appreciated. Thanks, Paul~
  12. MC, Agreed, definitely getting some love in the higher grades. Paul
  13. Got this book as an upgrade. Astonishing Tales #26 CGC 9.8. Has a fairly even mis-wrap on the spine which generally doesn't bother me; off-white pages to white also not a problem for me either. The thing that really grabbed me about this copy was how incredibly bone white the cover white was as well as the white on the back of the book. Even under magnification it shines. Also, picked up the FOOM #5 and copied the relevant pages of Deathlok article. Enjoy! Paul~
  14. My favorite. Combines Deathlok with Perez. Doesn't get any better.
  15. In the latest Heritage Auction coming up. (Not mine). Looks like there is a 2nd copy now of #17 on the census. Paul~
  16. Was going through a bunch of stuff from 20 plus years ago and came across this photograph of Astonishing Tales #35, page #14. Notes mentioned I sold it to TRH Gallery in 1998. Anyone seen this page since? Paul~
  17. Some recent upgrades (9.8 with White Pages).
  18. Great pick up. I was bidding... But dropped out in the early $1000s. Paul-
  19. Thought I'd post a few bits on this thread. 1st up is an original art page from Astonishing Tales #32, Page #11 (not mine) on Heritage Auctions. Current price is $900 The 2nd is the final hammer on the Astonishing Tales #33 White/(CGC 9.6) from the ComicConnect Auction in August. Closed for $680 plus whatever the house takes. Very strong! Paul~
