  1. This story is still sticking with me,

    1. Amazing that this was unearthed and still out there

    2. Would have been interesting (and more profitable for the owner) who didn't know the true value to have used a bid process rather than buy it now.

    3. I would have been cheesed if I had taken a flyer on it, and snagged it for $2k on the buy it now to then have gotten undercut by the seller subsequently backing out.

3a. I'm assuming seller was tipped off (however you choose to look at that) comic collectors can be sharks when there is blood in the water, no doubt about it.

    4. I never would have believed it was real and would not have likely bid on it or done a buy it now to begin with - especially given some fakes that I've seen posted here (recall the Cap America #1) and the seller's history.

His recent record setter's 1st appearance is on Karl Edward Wagner's "Dark Crusade" The reproduction on the 1976 paperback is quite a bit better than most of the earlier Frazetta paperbacks. All of the Wagner Kane books with Frazetta covers have become pretty pricey in high grade for Bronze Age paperbacks due to Wagner's cult-like following, probable lower print runs on these when they came out in the late 70's and the excellent covers.

Note: With data points increasing, a new table is presented to look under the hood and analyze Promise Collection genres.

My Okajima currently on the Ha.com Sig.

Yep saw that! GLWS, will be interesting watching the price.  Your book probably best encapsulates the entire pedigree.

I was specifically referring to four low grade books.  Just never seen Okajima with water damage like that, perhaps that occurred under a second or third owners watch and he or she had original certificates?  Shame.  Even a couple of the titles were odd for the pedigree imo.  The True looks to have even some chew.  No dates stamped or written on back etc.,  Just interesting additions to the pedigree, that's all.
