  7. Had a full cover, sold it. Kicking myself ever since. Nice copy!
  8. fyi, I inherited my dad's '66 mustang. Nothing fancy, definitely not 17 miles. Its in the garage - I run it around the neighborhood a couple times a year.
  9. DC logo made perfect target for BB-gun practice.
  10. I grew up with a similar store "Uncle John's"... records, incense, pipes and papers anyway but no comics that I can recall lol.
  11. Raymond Miller collection, a Fanzine Writer & Artist who was also known for amateur restoration of comics in a Pop Hollinger manner. I had 3 All Star Comics with his stamp (unfortunately since sold, probably here). There is a boardie whose name on feeBay is earlshaw that sold a lot of these on feeBay. Here is a rather extreme example:
  12. Albeit making it smell like maple syrup, that was down right cunning. Wonder if I could bottle up some 'odor de Edgar Church to spay on my books?
  13. as opposed to...burning the evidence? or just otherwise destroying the evidence? Seems like just passing it along would be at least the second quickest way to get it and oneself exposed.
  14. Wow! I'm feeling a bit naive. Nice story took a horrible turn.
  15. Scoop Scuttle? Interesting "signed copy" given its the inside character? https://forcesofgeek.com/2021/04/scoop-scuttle-and-his-pals-the-crackpot-comics-of-basil-wolverton-review.html
  16. Boy tough question. Kirby's art to me was that his character's in the GA were a bit thin and tall - sort of stretched. Alex Schomberg really represents the era best imo, Baker the GGA, Carl Barks the story teller and Frank Frazetta really the Sci-Fri artist truly emerged later.
  17. That is not universally true. The Planet Comics 64 - CGC 4.5 - Promise Collection Pedigree - Robot Cover - 1950 just sold of feeBay for $1,136.76 vs. $930.00 originally on HA... less than 1.5 years later. And if we are talking grade, a still very substantial premium for the pedigree. Without some type of specific database tracking all sales with solid quantification, I think the best that can be said is "depending" on many factors including issue, time, condition etc.,
  18. That's the conclusion I have come to (but its not the official story of the pedigree on the CGC website). Look, the Eldon's that have sold on HA range in age from 1940 to 1945, and moreover the "Tuffy" copies are Jumbo Comics #62 and Captain Marvel #35 - these are well known Eldon titles. Time frames match, signatures match, titles match, conditions match. The Hamman's connection right now is only to the True Comics from 1947, mailed to the father no less. I think Hamman is a red herring. Now, if we could find a way to definitively tie the block style lettering to someone - I think you make a good argument for Tuffentsamer. Or at least, the same household. What are the odds of two different comic signing Eldon’s having saved one high grade copy of each of a consecutive number in the USA comics series? I appreciate your research/insight...
