But what he says to Lois is totally confusing:  "Used to play this game at school, never was very good at it."  When the heck did he do that, because I just can't see him splitting into multiples in elementary school here on Earth!

He was probably referring to hide and seek in general.

  2. ”California gives out $330 million a year — upped to $420 million in 2022 and 2023 — in credits to keep film jobs from fleeing to other states and countries. Gov. Gavin Newsom recently vowed to extend the program through 2030. Assuming that extension bill passes, projects that receive the credit will soon have to submit a diversity plan, showing how they intend to make their workforce reflect California’s demographics.”

What a joke. A diversity plan? That’s why more and more movies are being filmed in Georgia and other states.

"Perfect" is hard to nail down. To me, perfect means an expertly executed vision. So, a perfect horror movie would have different merits than a perfect drama, etc. It can be about craftsmanship, it can be about storytelling. Ideally, it's a combo of both. In my mind, a list of "perfect" movies would have to include:

2001: A Space Odyssey, Godfather I & II, Alien, Aliens, Lawrence of Arabia, Jaws, Tokyo Story, Ikiru, John Carpenter's The Thing, Citizen Kane, 8 1/2, Halloween, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Rear Window, Dawn of the Dead, Apocalypse Now (the final cut), Blade Runner (final cut, though I have a soft spot in my heart for the original VO version, due to watching it on tape so many times as a kid), Seven Samurai, Evil Dead 2, Singin in the Rain, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Drunken Master 2...you know, I have to stop, I could do this all day.

Probably the most recent movie I'd add to the list is Mad Max Fury Road. Almost certainly the best pure movie of the last 10-15 years, it would go on that list as well. City of God would probably be there too.

I agree with 98% of your movie list being perfect. I just haven’t seen the other 2%.

I wish people would stop using "OK, boomer" on people who aren't actually baby boomers.

I heard a gen-z person say that to a millennial, and shook my head at their lack of education.

I can say that to my father but I won’t because it’s annoying. I’m GenX. We were supposed to be the generation that started the downfall of society. Anarchy! Then we sold out and became responsible citizens. I feel like kicking my own azz.

I was always going to wait for this to come to D+, no way was I taking out a small mortgage to watch it at the cinema. But now having re-watched every MCU movie and series recently I can't wait for this to land just for something new. I don't care if any of you think less of me for that, even though in most instances it would put me in minus figures!

I’m looking forward to seeing this too. But I can wait. Maverick was a must-see in theaters but Thor will be on my small screen.

I'm not big on following the BO $$$ as well, but I saw that it got beaten by some anime (maybe Dragon Ball?) this weekend?

You think the trailer looks good?  I thought it looked terrible and figured this to be a "paycheck movie" for him at best or a studio/contract obligation.

Yup, I’m a sucker for man vs animal movies and there’s no bad cgi here so I’m in.

Probably not a popular opinion but I'm really high on Blade Runner 2049, so I would pick both.

I also forgot to add Pulp Fiction and Dark Knight.

I've probably watched all the films on my list dozens if not hundreds of times. A lot of times I'll just put it on in the background or when I work out. I never tire of watching them.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved Blade Runner 2049 as they managed to bring Ford back without it being forced thinking nostalgia will carry him. He had a great role in it. But Blade Runner was ground breaking for its time and I can’t give that credit to 2049 despite it being such a great sequel.

And if this laser was that powerful, why not point it at Winter Soldier and cut him in half? It was powerful enough to slice through feet of construction, rebar and all.

I like to think that it requires a massive amount of power to do that in such a small device so its a one-time use thing. Battery dead in 30 seconds. Like my old cell phone with the flashlight on high.

Nothing beats physical and with a tpb u don't have to be delicate

I disagree with Orgasm, the colors are more vibrant and really pop when backlit on my iPad. I miss the sensation of thumbing through actual pages which gives me that nostalgic tangible feel but there is no comparison to seeing it lit up on a high resolution iPad screen. Plus, my iPad has one terabyte of storage so I can carry more comics than my LCS has in stock.

I don't think you're getting my point either so I'll make it once more -

Poking the Predator with a pointy stick should not have "severely injured" it.   Neither should have a ball from a musket ftom 350 years ago.  That is a betrayal to prior canon and what these things have withstood in prior movies from far stronger opponents with far more advanced weaponry.  At the end of the day, there was NOTHING Mary Sue, or even the French trappers were equipped with that would have been capable of "severely injuring" Feral from what we know of this species.

    Period.

Furthermore, some of you keep saying "oh well 'this ' Predator was just stupid and inexperienced", so that's why Mary Sue was able to single handedly take it down with a magic ax without getting so much of a scratch from it.

To that I call "BS".  First - y'all are continuing to conveniently ignore that she ALSO single handedly took down an entire encampment of armed burly French trappers , on an ankle that was supposedly previously injured on a bear trap, but apparently magically healed.

Second, saying this Predator was "stupid and inexperienced" is nothing but a weak excuse for the very sort of poor writing that is associated with Mary Sue characters-  dumbing down everybody and everything else so there is never any doubt, suspense , or question that the Mary Sue will prevail. Look, i get it, the movie would have only been 5 minutes long if Feral wasn't "inexperienced and stupid", at least with the sort of writing this movie had, but a better writer would have found a way for these people to defeat this creature in a "believable" manner while remaining true to prior canon, and what we know of Predators as a speicies and that would have made it a MUCH better movie.  That is what brought this potential "7" down to a "4" and put it firmly in the bottom half of Predator movies.  And her only "fault" in the beginning of the movie is she just hasn't had a chance to show all the mean boys how awesome and perfect she is at everything  yet but don't you worry, the plucky Disney princess- I mean Comanche warrior- will sure show them, even if it means putting her entire tribe in mortal danger, getting every young able bodied hunter in her tribe killed, ensuring her tribe's eventual starvation, and oh look!, turns out she was the one that "really" killed the lion in the tree after all.

    Barf.

This movie was lame.  But it was "good" compared to The Predator, which is the one that came out before it.  That's the only reason why some people are acting like it's Citizen Kane.

I'm glad some of you evidently enjoyed this movie, but I would not be able to recommend it, not even to Predator movie completists because it hardly qualifies as being a Predator movie, despite the kinda cool call back/connection  to Predator 2 (which is a FAR superior movie to this in every single way).

    -J.

    So.. you liked it?
