  1. I’ve noticed Dr. Sleep has been available on iTunes the last few days but what I didn’t notice until right now was the description states that as an iTunes extra, you get the Director's Cut with an additional half hour of footage. I searched online and it’s all related to character development. Instant buy for me at that point. Can’t wait to watch this again. https://collider.com/doctor-sleep-directors-cut-whats-different-mike-flanagan/
  2. You didn’t like Batman Begins, The Dark Knight or Joker? I do agree this one looks bad. Maybe it will find it’s target audience but it’s not me.
  3. Agreed. Even my teenage daughters are not interested in this. They loved Joker though.
  4. I loved the opening scenes in Rio and the chase there had the old tv series vibe but it quickly went downhill after, especially with the CGI.
  5. I’m not trying to convince you of anything. I’m old school and believe the very simple honorable notion of the best man or woman for the job, in any job, despite all the racism and gender-bias that has prevailed and will continue to.
  6. Imagine if a call went out for a white male director for the next Spider-Man movie. That would be racist. Good thing Marvels hiring criteria is not based on race or gender.
  7. Yup, excluding a black or white director when they are looking for an Asian director is ridiculous. Hiring by race instead of the best man or woman for the job. Then CM2 is looking for a woman to direct? I mean thank God they aren’t going with the original directors, as I’ve posted before I’ll see CM2 in the theater if they replace them. But to say we are hiring a specific gender?
  8. You know you’re old when you remember watching this series. I always thought he got bamboozled with the “You can leave when you take the pebble from my hand.” He didn’t mention the part about picking up the giant red hot cauldron with his bare wrists.
  9. I will add that I’m also fine with this, since I’m a fan of Scorsese’s style. I’m glad Joker had the influence it did and affected people but without Phoenix’s performance, the story itself co-written by Todd and Scott Silver is just good. Not great.
  10. Endgame should take visual effects easily and Joker will take a couple. Joker will not win Best Picture but Phoenix has a shot at Best Actor. Best Director? Nope, not for being Scorsese Light.
  11. I thought you watched this last July.
  12. You should check out the extended Hateful 8 four-part series on Netflix if you haven’t already.
  13. Yup, my kids are doing things like that with Procreate on their IPads.
  14. Wish they could have convinced Waititi to return to direct the whole series.
  15. I loved Upgrade. That first time STEM takes over put a huge smile on my face.
  16. I’m completely good with the idea that CM could be leading and playing a crucial role for the MCU going forward as long as they don’t use the same writer and directors from the first CM film.
  17. There are a lot of actors that are annoying in interviews but I watch them for their craft. Leto was great in Requiem for a dream, Lord of War, Blade Runner and Mr. Nobody. Dallas Buyers Club earned him a well deserved Academy Award, Golden Globe and others. His performance as the Joker obviously did not work and part of that blame falls on the director. Leto played a version of the Joker as it was written for him. We tend to give actors too much credit for both their successes and failures.
  18. Underwater. Despite minimal character development, I was really enjoying the ride until the last ten minutes and standard Michael Bay ending.
  19. As far as the recent Maxx project to be produced by Tatum, I’m really hoping they go with an animated series or even all CGI. Just wouldn’t work for me as live action. Maxx would look great modeled like this.
  20. I get you. I’ve never read a Reacher novel which is why Tom Cruise worked for me. My dad is screaming bloody murder though.
  21. Both actors are awesome. Just not in that role. Since he’s considered a supporting character, they probably didn’t feel the need to transfer his comic book personality over to film.
  22. I’m not doubting there wasn’t nerd rage online at the casting, there usually is. I just recall his personal substance abuse battle mirroring Starks fall at the time. My own nerd rage is for the casting of Rhodes, both times! They got fantastic actors that neither looked the part or played the part correctly.
  23. Had The Dark Knight come out today, it would have gotten a Best Picture nomination. Phoenix alone carries The Joker and his acting rises above anyone in TDK but TDK is still easily a superior movie.
