  1. I think they have a great actor on board with the wrong director. How does the director of the Hangover Trilogy get this? Another incredible actor that should have been perfect for the role is Leto. And he had Ayer directing him. The director of Fury. How did they drop the ball with that awesome combo? So while I’m always hopeful, you just never know what you’re going to get. I hope I wake up to a 90% on RT after release but I doubt it.
  2. Exactly, I used to own a SA 9.8 Iron Man #1 and I could see the inside through the white lettering of IRON MAN. I always thought it was cool how clean that cover was.
  3. I’ve bought several pieces off of CAF listed as NFS. That’s the default setting anyway when you upload a piece. My messages usually state my admiration for the piece and that if they ever decide to sell, to keep me in mind. I leave my email and that’s that. I usually get a polite response back thanking me for my interest and that they will keep my contact details if and when that day comes.
  4. I’ve hit the button and made a few offers on sold art for auctions I missed. Never heard back on any of them. I later found the owner of one of the pieces on CAF and he stated he never agreed to that option to even field offers. On top of that, he never received correspondence from HA concerning my offer.
  5. Now regardless of whether you loved or hated Man of Steel, this is how you do a teaser. Just look up the reactions here on the boards upon first viewing of this.
  6. I really like Larson, she has a lot of ability as evidenced in The Room. There is a high probability that Captain Marvel will be a box office success. (Not that I've ever cared how much a movie grosses but I know that means something here). There is also a high probability I'm going to love this movie. That said, this trailer looked like "made for tv" garbage with nothing memorable at all. Even my daughters were disappointed. Better trailers will come for sure but this was one bland teaser.
  7. Just watched this online. Pretty good. Not as good as the first one but there isn't much that can measure up to it. I'll definitely still buy this one.
  8. Agree with most here. How did they screw this up so bad? They should have offered Nolan a billion to stay with the Dark Knight franchise at least. They need to scrap all the actors and start over. Wouldn't it be cool if they just took five years off and then out of the blue, a marketing campaign hits and we get five or six movies in a one year period all connected in better ways than just end credits? They could film five separate character films simultaneously for better cohesion. Massive risk but could be quite the pay off.
  9. Even if its bad, I don't care about dropping ten bucks on some dumb fun. Compared to how much I've wasted on comics.
  10. Completely agree. After seeing this I had high hopes for DC and they just went downhill hard. Man of Steel is the ultimate comic book movie with aerial fight scenes I've been waiting for since the last Matrix. The original Superman is a classic and was absolutely magic when I saw it in the theater as a kid but Man of Steel is the Superman I needed to see today.
  11. In comic art I look at it like this. If anyone claims they found their Grail then there is not one other piece of art that exists that they would trade it for. I’ve wanted a Ronin page from FM for years and when I got one I didn’t call it my Grail because I would trade it for a Ronin cover in a heartbeat
  12. That's good to hear, I was planning on seeing it anyway. I go into most movies these days with low expectations. Learned my lesson after having extremely high expectations for the sequel to one of my favorite movies, Escape from New York.
  13. Yes, along with all the graded video games entombed that will never be played. But they can download them much like reader copies for your graded comics.
  14. There really isn't a need to press this. If you send it in to CGC it will come back with a green Qualified label or maybe if you request it, a blue label with a significantly lower grade taking into account the signature that has not been witnessed by CGC. This is also one of those books where I honestly don't believe grading will affect its value. Can we see a pic?
  15. I think I posted something in this thread years ago but if not, here are my thoughts. I've cracked out many books to enjoy over the years but none over $1000. When we are talking about some SA keys like Hulk 1 where a .5 difference in grade is thousands, I'm simply keeping it slabbed. I'm not taking the chance of a lower grade coming back. I also know quite a few guys that will not pay market value for a comic in a mylar with a CGC label inserted inside. There are very few books that I know will stay with me for the majority of my life.
  16. I’ve got a small collection with half of it on CAF. Fresh to the market doesn’t matter to me. I don’t see the “cool” factor of something being available for the first time. It’s used car sales talk to me. As far as privacy, my name is not on my gallery at CAF so I have no privacy concerns.
  17. Agreed, I wouldn't consider many covers posted here to be deemed classic covers just because they are GA. Not to say they aren't really nice books but this is a GA classic cover. Wish it were mine.
  18. I’ve received art from dealers inside Masonite for years and have never had one arrive damaged. Guess I’ve been fortunate. But by far the best packaged system I ever saw was from a member here I met on CAF. It was an oversized DPS and he sandwiched it in multiple layers of cardboard and then slid that taped slab inside a large mirror box stuffed with packing peanuts. It was sent UPS second day and arrived with some damage. Slightly crushed corner and some edge damage but the slab and art inside was untouched. $95.00 for shipping and worth every penny. Thanks again Kelvin.
  19. The first time I saw his art, I didn't know his name and his art stuck with me pretty much my whole life. The Roman Toy Soldiers back cover ad.
