  1. If that 700 million refers to box office, it’s something that is no indicator of the quality of a movie in my eyes. How many billions has the Transformers franchise accumulated? Though I did hear the last one was pretty good. And as I said before, I thought Black Panther was great. I’ll also add that it’s more rewatchable than The Dark Knight for me. But comparing the two is like comparing Heat to Den of Thieves.
  2. I don't believe there is a single comic book movie that resonates like Dark Knight. Iron Man and Black Panther were great popcorn fun but pretty much on par with about four other Marvel movies in terms of quality. In Dark Knight, I hated the Bat suit and thought Bale was not a good fit at all for either Bruce or Batman. Don't get me started on the voice. And yet its still a monumental film. Its not often a comic book film dares to become something more, in this case a psychological neo-noir thriller. And it annoys me that we haven't seen that level attained in any other comic book movie to date. I'm not a kid anymore and don't leave the theater high-fiving my buddy talking about Easter eggs or end credit surprises. I want to contemplate what I just watched long into the evening. Of course I'm not Marvel's target audience either. They make the masses happy and make money so there's no reason to take a risk and make something thought provoking like Dark Knight. So what happened to DC? They just got cocky after that and made some huge miscalculations. Who knows how long it will take to right this ship now.
  3. Agreed, this trailer looked entertaining. I have to admit I've never read a Hellboy comic though.
  4. I've never heard the term blackwashing but I'm assuming its casting a black actor into the role of a character that was originally a different race? If so, I can think of at least a dozen examples. I personally don't like it when any literary or comic characters race is changed with just a few rare exceptions. Morgan Freeman in Shawshank Redemption is one. I can't read that novella now without his voice telling me the story.
  5. I rather enjoyed The Last Jedi. I didn't like The Force Awakens since that was a movie I had already seen. Rogue One was fantastic and Solo was pretty good.
  6. Never had any interest in the character and I'm not a fan of Momoa either. The majority of members posting here so far enjoyed it so I'll give it a shot. I haven't really enjoyed any recent DC movies except Man of Steel. I know, not so recent. They hit that high note with Dark Knight and then the band left.
  7. Two titles I never got into are Preacher and TMNT yet I’m always sucked into the two main threads. I find them much more interesting than many of the ongoing topics here. I’ve kept up with this one from the beginning even though I never had anything to contribute. I need to give this series another shot. I mean it took me several attempts with a few years in between to get through Millers DKR and at least 5 failed tries to finish Ronin starting as a teen in the 80’s and now those are two of my favorite books.
  8. I'd pay 2k for a NM copy without hesitation.
  9. Oh ok, Die BY Image Comics. Thought you just hated them.
  10. Would love to have something by Sendak that I could pass down to my daughters. I of course read WTWTA to them when they were little.
  11. I believe most collectors regardless of their financial situation will sell their most beloved piece at the right price. They may not even realize they were open to it until that ridiculous cash or trade offer is made. Of course there are always exceptions.
  12. Everything eventually escapes and comes to light one day unless it’s destroyed or just lost in storage somewhere. I doubt anyone has anything they wouldn’t sell for 10x market value. Maybe they are wealthy and don’t need the money so would they turn down 100x market value? I’ve seen so many pieces on CAF with amusing notes in the For Sale Status like “Going to the grave with me” etc. only for them to receive a crazy offer and poof. I have a nostalgic grail that I used to believe would never leave me. Paid 4k 3 years ago and was recently offered 15k. I passed but if the offer was 5k higher I would have had to pause and consider. And had it been 10k higher? Then real world practical purchase options start coming to mind. 25k is a car for my daughter who will be driving age soon. I actually have one piece from someone who proclaimed it would never be for sale at any price. And I got it from him in a trade. All it took was a few years for his excitement of owning it to wear off. He still loved it but there is always something else on the horizon.
  13. Oh I’m sure there’s nothing special in there, some sealed Gameboy Advance and DS games. Tactics Ogre, Golden Sun and the like. I had several copies of PS1 FF7 but ebayed those off some years back and did surprisingly well. Next time I’m home I’ll check my storage unit and make a list.
  14. I don’t know the first thing about graded games but I do have about a dozen older games still sealed in the box. If I found out any of them were worth something encapsulated, I would have them graded in a minute. Because money.
  15. Oh well, can’t please everyone. I do love the dramatic title though I would have preferred: MARVEL OFFENDS 1.4 BILLION PEOPLE BEFORE -script IS WRITTEN. WAR IMMINENT.
  16. Better than mine. I bought this drawing last May and it’s still up for sale. I don’t have it in my gallery though. https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1453898
  17. Absolutely, if it’s gone, let it go.
  18. Once your payment has been made or clears you are the owner and can do with it as you please no matter where the physical piece is. Even if the piece is lost or stolen after shipping, keep the image up on CAF with all the details so others can be made aware and be on the lookout.
  19. You’ve been missing out. Some of the best comics I ever read had bland covers.
  20. I plan to auction off my own art soon. It’s possibly loosely based on some lame comic.
  21. That’s why I buy from Heritage and sell at ComicLink. The best thing about Heritage is their excellent scan archive.
  22. Never really had art goals, I’m not a serious hobbyist. I would love to pick up a nice piece by Raphael Grampá in 2019 preferably non-hero work. Same for James Jean, (I’m always looking out for Felix’s announcements). A Frank Miller 300 DPS has always been on my list but it’s moved beyond what I am comfortable paying.
  23. The only physical art is the inked original. Ronda’s colors are digital.
