  1. I regret to say I haven’t purchased anything from Felix yet. I’m waiting for that ideal Paul Pope cover or page. This from the guy that’s been trying to get out of comic art for the last year. I’ll just limit myself to three covers for 2018 and hopefully one of those comes from Felix. Edit- Actually I did try to purchase a piece when the offerings of James Jean went live and literally must have been one second too late.
  2. I never read this book but that image was sure burned in my brain from walking into comic shops in the 90’s. So call it cover nostalgia. I didn’t know Claudio here on the boards but met him on CAF and he was fantastic to deal with. Thanks again!
  3. Congrats guys, incredible bargains! The Batman and Moon Knight are cover quality.
  4. I'm not really a fan of the Rock or any of his movies. His acting is slightly above his wrestling persona performance. However, he's great in Ballers. He definitely pulls it off there. My kids and I loved the original Jumanji so we'll give this one a shot.
  5. My gut says no due to the face. Unless he was really having an off day.
  6. This one is about a year old and is a Netflix original movie. Somehow it escaped my radar. It copies a pivotal scene from Aliens but I still really enjoyed it overall. Great popcorn flick.
  7. Wow, just saw my Sam Kieth sketch has 8 votes! Probably because I was the first poster ha. I dropped a LIKE on quite a few pieces since there was so much great stuff. Some of you guys got incredible deals at under $300, I especially love the pieces by Stelfreeze and Runge.
  8. I remember this cool story but did not know you actually found the original later which makes the story even better.
  9. Thanks Nick, been a while since I read it. I now take the credit away from Zack!
  10. Forget De Niro’s Ronin. I want Frank Miller’s Ronin already. On Netflix. But I really did love the movie. So what color was the boathouse?
  11. He’s still in good shape for approaching 60. I’d like to see a DKR version of Blade or Old Man Blade, ha. One last Blade with Wesley then reboot and recast for Netflix.
  12. I agree, such an intense thriller. I hope this sequel measures up. I’ve never heard of the director (Sollima). The screenwriter (Sheridan) is the same that penned the original so that is good. They actually should have had Sheridan direct Soldato as well since he did such a great job with Wind River. Anyway, this is at the top of my list as far as next summers movies.
  13. That is very unfortunate, I enjoyed the comics. Maybe one of the big three cable companies will realize there is a great story there.
  14. I forgot how fantastic this thread is. There are one or two covers by Liefeld I wouldn’t mind having due to nostalgia only and if I ever acquired them I sure wouldn't tell nobody.
  15. I liked the movie anyway but based on your recommendation I bought it on iTunes. I have not watched it though. Will be a great Saturday night flick to enjoy again.
  16. Is there another Directors Cut thread? If so, I’ll kill this one.
  17. For me it’s a problem that The Dark Knight is the pinnacle of comic book films. It’s been a decade. I want someone to put out a better comic book movie that satisfies me on the level that TDK did. Winter Soldier, Civil War and GotG were great fun but they don’t measure up. Watchmen and 300 were the best translations I could ask for and still, no DK. I can only hope Matt Reeves gives us something special with a solo Batman film in the future.
  18. Who wouldn’t double dip and buy the Directors Special Edition, Extended, Unrated Cut of their favorite movie? Cash grab? Sometimes. In some cases like James Cameron’s The Abyss, we get a completely new ending that is infinitely better than the theatrical release. I just watched a film online that was destroyed by the critics. The Snowman. The director made Let the right one in and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. The screenwriter previously wrote Drive. Actors include Michael Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson, Val Kilmer, J. K. Simmons and others. Film based on a best selling novel. Of course I’m going to watch it, I don’t care about the critics. The movie was not bad. That’s just being a lazy reviewer. This strange film was obviously broken. Ok, you can say it was bad that they released it like this and one wonders how much studio interference was involved in ruining what could have been a great film. People are wanting a Directors Cut of Justice League, well I want the 3 hour version of The Snowman. The version I watched was one hour and fifty-nine minutes. One of the subplots involved J.K. Simmons character and halfway through the film, he disappears. No mention of him ever again. Not even a conversation where someone says, oh well the killer must have got him. Nope, nothing. Like he just didn’t show up at the set for work one day. There were scenes that jumped to another new scene right in the middle of a conversation. And dialogue was edited without filming over so their lips did not match what they were saying. Like a bad 70’s Kung-Fu dub. And this is a major picture. Even though the director says he has 3 hours, he still did not finish filming like 15 to 20% of the screenplay. There are scenes of great beauty in this film as they show Norway in a similar fashion to the opening of Al Pacino’s Insomnia. There is even beauty in the horrible death scene where a corpse in the snow is covered with white birds. I really want to know what happened here and I hope to see a finished version one day because despite the film being broken, I know there is greatness in there. I sort of went off topic since I described a film that currently does not have a DC available but you get the point of the thread. So pick a Directors Cut and tell us why it worked for you. Or why it didn’t. Or a film that you think needs a DC.
  19. The original book is O’Barrs one-hit wonder and it’s a shame he never did anything else that achieved that same level. I wish he’d stop riding his own coattails. He’s like Linsner in that regard. The best thing about the original Cry for Dawn was not Dawn. But that’s for another topic. The Crow was a great story with some wonderful art and an awesome first movie which fit right in with the times. As much as I love the original, every Crow related project after has been a disappointment for me. In order for them to deliver a proper reboot they will have to follow the source material closer and deliver a different movie compared to the first. I already don’t like the title. I thought they were doing a remake. So just call it The Crow. Add Reborn and it fades into Salvation and City of Angels etc.
  20. Was so disappointed in TFA and now from what I’m reading, it looks like they have delivered greatness again in Star Wars. One review said it stands on its own without the need for the other movies.
  21. First full trailer and all I’m seeing is that they are stealing scenes from previous Jurassic movies. I’m still going to see it of course but come on. They are going back and risking their necks to save the dino’s? I really hope there is more to this. Visually it looks great, but that’s to be expected.
  22. I could never get into DC or Marvel animation but this looks really good. Will definitely check it out. Now if they would only give me From Hell in an animated ten-episode HBO series.
  23. I grew up watching the original series with my father. Great memories there. I never really got into any Star Trek series after that. Loved Wrath of Khan and Search for Spock and still watch those two over and over. I also loved the first Abrams Star Trek and accepted the changes easily. Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown are my favorite Tarantino flicks and I honestly can’t say I’ve disliked any of the others he has put out. Kill Bill was so much fun it’s become a twisted family movie that my wife and daughters all enjoy with me. That said, I would not want a Tarantino directed Star Trek film. He is polished in making a good crime story. As someone mentioned earlier, I would love Nolan taking a shot at it. I also think James Gunn would be a great choice.
  24. Still haven't seen JL but hopefully soon. I'm more excited to see Reeves solo Batman reboot though. Loved his Apes trilogy. Also I'm more of a solo Batman fan and never read a Justice League comic in my life. It's really a shame that DC is not doing as well as Marvel since I prefer the darker tones without a lot of jokes aimed at kids. And Snyder gave us 300 and Watchmen and I wouldn't have changed anything in those movies. Man of Steel has its critics but I thought it was great. DC did not have to try to create their own universe, they were doing fine up until then. They should have concentrated on getting quality writers/directors like Nolan to get in there and do their thing without having to worry about what others were doing for continuity.
