I absolutely agree with you Chris and I would never leave anything but a respectful comment on others collections. I just don’t mind taking any hits personally, very thick skin here. By the way I just saw that tools comment on your latest piece and invited him to hit me next.

I was going to ask this in the OA forum but I have a feeling there is more CFD knowledge here. I know Linsner keeps churning out commissions but has he ever released an original Cry for Dawn cover? Or has he held onto that run of art?

I have an indoor climate controlled UHAUL unit in Las Vegas which had contained my original art portfolios since I work overseas and sold my home. To my surprise upon visiting it one day on a trip back, there was a crowd of a dozen people hanging around right in front of it. I asked what was going on and they said an auction was about to start for this unit. I was like, the hell there is! The UHAUL rep showed up and apologized for giving the wrong unit number. My art collection currently resides elsewhere. I did go check out the auction and they walked down the hall, cut the lock off the unit and lifted the door. No one was allowed to enter or touch anything. They had to bid blind based on what they could see.

Personally, I would absolutely do it if there was original art underneath. Well not me, but I would get a professional. Then I would carefully store the stat away since it was still part of the production process.

Having heard the story over the years that Frank Miller only released limited pages from this series and mainly from the first issue, I started tracking them down. List compiled from the Heritage archives, past ComicLink sales, CAF and other resources. Here are the known pages that are out there so far. Please feel free to add your own knowledge, theory or just thoughts.

I collected high grade SA comics in the past and that has no bearing on the original art I pick up. Some of my 80’s art has tanning, stats, clipping and paste-ups and that’s completely fine (and pretty cool) as it was all part of the production process. I may draw the line at water damage though.

I used to be on there but the Facebook culture really turned me off. Closed it and just follow a few artists from their blogs now.

I'm not a baseball fan but I love Ball Four by Jim Bouton. Read it three times over a decade.

Halloween is big in my family and we've been having a blast all month since I'm actually home. House is filled with decorations and a ton of black and orange balloons. Earlier this month my two daughters skipped school against my wishes and we saw IT together. At home, we had pizza movie marathons with all those Conjuring/Insideous/Ouija/Annabelle flicks and slipped Super 8 in as well. Last night we hit the first season of Stranger Things again and rolled into the second season. Really enjoying it. Will wrap it up tonight. Happy Halloween all.

I just wiped my Kindle Voyage back to factory settings. Upgrading to the new Oasis 2 (thank God I didn't buy the first Oasis). Price is ridiculous but this is the Kindle I've always wanted. 7 inch screen, audiobooks via Bluetooth and finally waterproof. Also 32 GB of storage which may seem like overkill but I welcome it. Main complaints in current reviews are of course price and lack of a headphone jack and I'm completely ok with both since I've gone wireless last year and can never go back. I never get excited for device launches but man I can't wait to get this. Will load my entire library back on and I think I'll christen it with the Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide. Been a few years since I've read it.

I don’t have much need for CAFs premium services and have less than ten pieces posted there out of my small collection of maybe fifty. The main thing I collect comes from just one art dealer. But I pay the premium to support Bills site which has brought me so much enjoyment over the years and helped me discover new artists I’ve never heard of. I’ve also found and purchased art from other CAF members which can be done with the free account but I recognize the value of even being able to do that at all. The art I’ve acquired from other CAF members (none of which were ever listed for sale) is easily worth my premium support.

I saw It with my two daughters last week and we all loved it. I wish it was a trilogy instead of a two-parts so they could squeeze more of the massive novel into it. Wishing for an extended cut for the home release.

It's always nice to receive an insightful comment beyond "nice piece." I remember looking at a panel page in someone's gallery and discovering one of the panels was actually a cover image. I commented and think the owner got a kick out of it. Of course you're nobody until you've received the prestigious "baller" award comment on one of your pieces.

Great trailer, nice rifle work and loved him tearing it up with the SAW at the end.

For those pieces I want up, its plexi only. I sold a painting a few years back and shipped it to Spain from Las Vegas and left it in its frame with no worries. To my surprise he reframed it.

Maybe I'm the only one and others may benefit from my OCD. I mean I love all the handwritten production notes in the margins and on the back but it was all part of the process. Once the art leaves that state and is out in the world, I would absolutely prefer it to remain "original" to that time with nothing new added. And there is always more OA out there that will fit the bill for me in the way I prefer it.

If only one OCD collector with deep pockets wants the art original and untouched since publication, then yes, there would be harm in that final auction bid. Unlikely but not impossible.

I always miss his con appearances and it seems that's one of the best ways to pick up Xenozoic original art. I've been biting my lip over the cover at romitaman.com for a while now. I do have a drawing he did inside the collected hardcover and that will have to hold me over for now.

Exactly. An HBO ten-episode run for each novel. Nine times out of ten I hate movies that come from books I love. Shawshank Redemption and Stand by Me were fantastic though still managed to leave a lot of content out and these were relatively short novellas by King.
