  1. Well, the MCU has never had any qualms about doing that... So, no problem.
  2. Where exactly am I being defensive?? My opinion is just that, and I couldn't care less who agrees or doesn't. Interesting your only take away from my post was I watch them later. Never said it was a difference. Or that the movies are bad. I'm done this with thread.
  3. I actually don't go to see these movies; I see them later. And to be clear: I don't think they are bad. I think I said in a previous post that they are ok (even good) on their own merits. They've just strayed further and further from the comics, either for political reasons (Mandarin is a good example), or for some swelled head director to infuse their ideas into the narrative. I just can't get that excited about them. It's not surprising; we comic readers are not the target audience, and the studio doesn't care if they dischant us, as long as they maximize profits. I'm happy (I guess) that the characters are exposed to a larger audience (I've always said the general public became more aware of the Hulk via the TV series as opposed to the comics), but I would have liked them to see a truer version.
  4. Gee, thanks for the advice. Of course, my fault for actually posting a true feeling counter to the groupthink in this thread. What was I thinking?
  5. What I think some are missing is that these movies are NOT "dreams come true" for some of us. They are not filmed realizations of the comics we loved, they're altered versions. And we just can't get that excited about them. They may be ok on their own terms, but aren't nearly as good as the films we've seen in our heads.
  6. I'm not an MCU fan, I'm a Marvel comics fan. And I think they never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity. Other than to make money.
  7. Sounds like a plan It's like you sat in on a Marvel brainstorming session.
  8. The CPI since 1997 is 55%. That would put Titanic at about 1.02 billion. It must be specifically movie ticket prices, as the previous poster stated.
  9. How exactly are the totals adjusted? Titanic's adjustment is nearly double. Prices (CPI) haven't doubled since 1997.
  10. By least non-racist does he mean most racist? Not being facetious, I'm just un-clear.
  11. Huh. I was presented with a few ascending offers for a 9.0 White copy through Heritage a few months ago, culminating at $2000. Guess I was right to keep turning them down.
  12. Good question. Doing this without Warlock is like doing Julius Caesar without Mark Antony.
  13. Not the best example from the comics you chose. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this.
  14. I'm sorry; that just does not look like Thanos. Show that to me out of context and I'm not sure I could guess who it's supposed to be; if I did it would be because of the gauntlet.
