For sale is a rare Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie adaptation from the summer of 1990. If you're a TMNT fan/collector or person who likes things not too common, you might like this.

It's based on the first TMNT movie and is by Mirage Studios

    Inside reads:
"Adaptation by: Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman
    Layouts by: Kevin Eastman
    ----script by: Peter Laird
Inks by: Eric Talbot, Peter Laird, Kevin Eastman"

I would refute that statement.  Wholeheartedly.

I disagree. We're talking 40 years worth of collecting. 99.9% sure someone who has a collection that valuable over that period of time has been to numerous cons, shows, dealt with dealers, spent tons of money over 40 years, knows how to grade, knows about grading companies etc. They're no rookie. This is no fly-by-night collector based on the collection he described.

I can see someone having a valuable collection that was passed down to them, purchased as a kid over 5-10 years and then stored away... but we're talking 40 years

Antique show/flea markets for me have been the least productive out of any venue.  Aside from that one exception (mentioned in this thread awhile back) for me it's been a complete waste of time.

    you're right

generally they're pretty bad at yielding good books (at least in my area). I had some success a few years ago at a particular antique show with a particular seller who bought collections and waited for antique shows to sell his books... but he doesn't do the shows anymore.

I hit four garage sales on Saturday morning that advertised comics. There were some junky comics, nothing worth buying.

Just trying to balance the scales for those who think that it's easy pickings!

    This post made me smile.

I went to a large antique show last weekend. ... nothing remotely close to valuable.
