  1. Agreed, happy to see this Namor love outpouring, around 10 of my Oaklands are Subbies...
  2. And that's actually probably better for the overall health of the comic industry. I reckon the industry could benefit from more readers who religiously buy issue after issue over folks buying exclusively Golden/Silver/Bronze age slabs or manufactured collectibles by way of incentive variants and retailer exclusives. Granted, cultivating readers would require good ongoing stories instead of a spate on #1s every few months. Hawthorn, unicorn hair, reasonably springy. Got two of those (regular one in 2013 and an interactive one in 2015) along with a couple others. Atta man !!
  3. Oh, thanks for clarifying the rules of pump and dump. Where may I review the rest of the rules? :-* <3 love ya, bub.
  4. btw, pump-dump doesn't apply to a book where one continues to hold XX copies, as any profits from selling now might be dwarfed later on. At the least, this covered my hawthorne wood HP wand at Universal
  5. The pump wasn't really because of this board. That was due to widespread media coverage. People just took advantage of a quick flip. The PUMP and DUMP is people saying and trying to make this Harry Potter's "1st appearance"......because really, it's just a pin-up. Honestly, this is the only place I've seen where people are even enquiring how CGC will label the slabs. A lot of fans are probably just buying because JKR endorsed it and the money's going to a good cause. Well this is CGC's forum, if not here then where? Personally I love when odd things like this come up, just makes the hobby more interesting. Exactly. Modern section on here is well known for its snarky assumptions (as seen in this very thread), but once in a while we can pretend it can hold a candle to the GA section in terms of fun miscellany.
  6. How much do you have invested in this? Already profited... but keeping some as a collector. Ain't a regular speculator.
  7. Yes. Gemma has confirmed that CGC grades 180+ pagers as long as they're softback. This is a 144-pager.
  8. If anyone's fast-tracking at CGC, could they post up the slab's label? Regardless of edition B-)
  9. Anyone have the cover to a Marvel Mystery Comics 2? Msg me please ! : )
  10. Thankfully Afterlife's writer had heavy input. Leading to Afterlife delays, but if it makes the show better, I'm good. As for the humor that powered Archie for 75 years... we'll have it forever in the GA/SA books. But same thing wasn't cutting it for current/future generations.
  11. Love this thread. Gator, whatcha up to for NYE?
  12. Probably doesn't count as an authorized use of the character but I'd love to see a photo. 100% does not, but likewise am curious... : )
  13. Baseball cover, so neat Less than a month 'til Riverdale premieres on The CW (of Gossip Girl fame). January 26th. If it succeeds, could have huge ramifications for expanding the next gen of Archie collectors : )
  14. What I'm thinking is the first printing books will say "First Print" and have the sticker over the bar code. In the end, it should have an advantage (typically the case) unless significantly fewer second printings were made. Just conjecture at this point though, don't quote me on it.
  15. My books (Barnes & Noble) have yet to ship, stay tuned ! Oop, shipped not long after
  16. I'm still on the road traveling, but I wager the official website that sold out early had the bulk if not all of the 1st eds.
  17. I bought one to sell and one to keep / read. And the good guys win. http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/12/29/love-ls-love-speculator-smash-selling-copies-40-ebay/ Already a second printing !
  18. They played the trailer before Rogue One, and Cash's "Hurt" had everyone shush up... so badass.
