Time to buy in the SA age mega keys I sold my JIM83 CGC 6.0 for 27k last year one just sold in the same grade 18k.
Couldn't agree more as the market is an absolute playground of fun for collector's vs the last few years. Definitely time to consider moving a bunch of books that are "replaceable" to try and pick up a book or perhaps two books that were out of reach the last several years.

I'm guessing this has been brought up but Batman New 52 (court of owls) issues #1-#11 have always been popular but the potential for this series in a movie or show is off the charts.

Even with the pressable defects IMO 8.0 is a generous grade for this copy.
Congratulations. I still regret passing on a somewhat affordable 6.0 15 years ago.
Time is everyone's friend in the collectibles hobby it seems. Throw a dart at any comic convention "wall book" and in 15 years you're more than likely going to be happy 🤑. I'm sure there are exceptions but overall time is your friend and I definitely regret WAY more books I sold than purchased over the years.

"Low grade is better than NO grade" rings true for me but I generally love 4.0-6.0 silver age and tend to get in that range whenever possible 🤑.

I just watched an interview with Blue Chip comics where he talks about the "3 R's" in the comic book hobby.
Rarity, Replaceability and Relavence
Fantastic Four #1 hits all of those box's for me so I'd pull the trigger but to each there own.

When you get in the $15k-$20K range and almost fall out of the ability to own a book in any grade I felt now was the time to get in or miss the boat completely. We will see what the future holds but this being a top 3 all time silver age Marvel book I don't see the popularity or demand for this book ever decreasing to much.
At the end of the day we buy for the love of the hobby over the investment so let the chips fall where they may and we will sit back and enjoy the ride that is the greatest hobby in the world for my son and I.

I learned a lot this weekend at C2E2 from lot of old school dealers who were kind of enough to enlighten me and take their time to teach me about the comics and its history. I was there to purchase and spend money and funny thing is I’ve had more than one old school dealers who are fairly well known in this industry? (now this is my pure assumption since I’ve seen these dealers being mentioned on this board several times) these old knowledgeable gentleman all steered me away from ASM #1 and all directed me towards either FF1 or X-Men 1 over ASM #1.
Their reasoning were fairly similar and they also crushed some key books that are hot now and actually prevented me from spending/wasting five figure plus on books which they believed were not worthy of the price tag and won’t hold its value (I was actually shocked to hear some of the remarks lol)
Having said all this I still have a deal in line to pick up ASM #1 today so.. 😂
We were at the same show and had a lot of the exact same conversations with multiple dealers. At the end of the day I didn't get either of these books and instead bought the FF#1 (CGC 1.8) over a higher grade of either of the other books in this survey that I started. I honestly think this is an absolute coin flip and I'm hoping to someday own ALL of these books.
Congrats on securing your ASM #1 and post pic's when you get it!

I've looked through a lot of pages and tried searching but haven't found anyone talking about LIME green vs DARK green copies of X-Men #1. Any insight as to which is preferred in the market or is it really not an issue with collector's?
Just curious and thanks in advance for any responses.

When it comes to TOS 39 I feel we still have yet to see its potential and find that it is very much undervalued for how epic of a key it is. I already have teens (17-19) contacting me on Instagram trying to buy my coverless copy off me since it is the only thing they could afford at the moment. Very few low grade copies hit the market, with mainly mid-high grade copies tend to float around at obscene asking prices. I have another complete copy (0.5 CGC) that is out being fully restored right now, but I would love to add another one to my collection seeing as he's both my favourite Marvel hero and an obvious great investment.
Lock your copies away until the MCU generation hits their 30s and the full power of nostalgia begins to take hold in their collector minds (I'm also sure Disney could easily bring RDJR back to the role for a surprise in the future which would just ignite this nostalgia and amount to another massive money pile for them all)I agree and would add that Iron Man started the MCU and will always have a large following for multiple generations as kids have grown up watching these movies. Disney used Iron Man as the centerpiece of the MCU and will always have a huge following.
