Rusty staples w/rust migration, minor spine stress w/a few color breaking spine ticks, slightly blunted corners, color breaking crease by the "W" in "Arrow", slight spine roll, slight staining/foxing on rear cover, crease (?) at top left of rear cover. IMO, it is the rusted staples that prevent this book from being a higher grade, the grading standards are not very concise on how much is allowed in each grade, they use words that all have similar meanings, "some rust migration", "minor rust migration", "slight rust migration", this leaves the perceived amount up to the individual grader. If I had to start over collecting in todays market I would be collecting reprint issues of the early/mid Silver Age and "Key" books. With todays prices many folks cannot afford the original so demand for reprint issues such as Marvel Tales, Fantasy Masterpieces, Marvel Milestone Editions, etc., is going to increase, look what happened with the GRR's. If you already have original copies of these books and are looking to create more space then find them a nice home, if not keep them, maybe look to complete the run, as a "collector" you have many options. https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=85061

Sorry, no story, all books were purchased that way, collecting on a budget and wanting to fill runs (quantity over quality) = lots of "Well Loved" copies.

These pics were taken in 2015, in 2015 I graded/cataloged/photographed approx. 3000 books in mine and my Son's collection, everything is stored on my laptop and backed up on two separate flashdrives.

The book is extremely nice, congrats. All I see with this book is some color rub on the front cover, without being able to see the pages, bottom of book lying flat I do not know what the "blue" ink is, is it "distributor ink"? DISTRIBUTOR STRIPES Color brushed or sprayed on the edges of comic book stacks by the distributor/wholesaler to code them for expedient exchange at the sales racks. Typical colors are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Where do you want me to start? I just recently wanted to see how many "Well Loved" copies I had in my 2000 book collection.(All are Raw except 1) Coverless-1, Remaindered-10, PR 0.5-19, FR 1.0-68, FR/GD 1.5-156, GD- 1.8-86 Here are some examples...(Click on the pic for a larger image)

Because of the MCU, prices/demand for early Thor appearances in JIM has increased (along with the other GRR's, ASM 1, Avengers 4, F.F. 1), folks are now looking for reprint issues with original covers such as the GRR's so naturally the price of these books has increased as demand has increased, the price for Fantasy Masterpieces 4 which was a dollar bin book 10 years or so ago is now selling for $30.00 - $40.00 for a higher grade copy, much less than an original copy of Silver Surfer 4. I have graded my GRR JIM 83 as a VF- 7.5 and FMV based on eBay sold auctions for this book in VF- 7.5 is $600.00, I paid $30.00 for this book back in the 90's.

Do you have pics of the 9 panels that were colored in? Were they colored in to the point that the word bubbles and art are no longer visible or readable?
