If you paid your neighbor $50 to park your car in his garage while you were away on an extended holiday, then got back and found out he'd sold it, who would you call, and what would you tell them?

Well, to be fair, he IS the greatest man who has ever lived. At least his profile says so...

That can't be true. He's not even the greatest doctor. That title goes to Dr. Toboggan..............Mantis Toboggan

He told me he filed a police report and shared security footage with me - at which point I NOPED right out of the conversation as it is now grand larceny and I am not getting involved in this growing mess further.
I didn't post anything explicit about it since I was waiting for him to make an announcement or whatever, but that doesn't seem to be happening and so yeah, I guess might as well confirm it since a few other people also know at this point. There is a phrase I've heard around my area that seems to fit Mike and his situation. " The reason why the S**T is so deep is because you dug the hole."

There was time to exam them, all the books pictured seemed complete to myself and the other person live., As far as the 2 people bidding via phone for the books I listed the prices for, I'm not sure if they just went with the pictures or called the auctioneer before hand. The phone ins hung up after the above books sold and things went pretty smooth for me and the other live bidder kind of played nice and both came home with some golden age books. It was an estate auction for what looked like a farmer in a small Kansas town held in the local 4h or FFA hall so it wasn't too crazy. I even went back in after I paid and bought my parents a nice old hay trolley.

I have some pics that kind of show condition.
Cap 32 went for just under $1.1k, Brick Bradford was $350-$450 and both air fighters around $400 each. iirc
The first is the only picture the auctioneer provided on the bill, it shows the Brick but the cap and air fighters are hidden in the stack.

Well, then this IS a lucky coincidence.
I just received the following email earlier today.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
To: Mr. Domo Arigato
Date: February 24, 2024
Mr. Arigato,
Greetings and salutations. I hope this correspondence finds that you are goodly and of excellent health. I am sending these words via electronical communication to let you know that your books have completioned and are ready to take their journey to you through the postal mail system. Unfortunately, due to the unrest in my country, all of my huge wealth has been temporarily seized, and I need your help to regain it so I can return the books back into your willing hands. The quickliest way you can accomplish this is also very easily. Just go to the nearest location and purchase $500 in Blockbuster gift cards. Then you will need to correspond back to this email and supply me with the codes revealed on the back of said cards. This will allow me to gain access to all of my funds and return you property so that you will once again be a fully complete and happy person.
With respect and humble dignity,
Michael D.

Went out of my normal area and into Kansas for an auction. I didn't get the "bigger" books (Captain America 32, Brick Bradford 6 and Air Fighters v2 6 and 7) that were there, Which went to a bidder on the phone. It was kind of funny, I don't think the auctioneer had a clue what the comics were worth. But still came home with some books after the 3+ hour drive there and back.
Here's the haul.

Unfortunately at this time I believe it best to stop my involvement as the situation with Mike has escalated to a point I do not feel comfortable with.
I sincerely hope more customers get their property returned, however that is now solely in Mike's hands. Those of you who have discovered your own books listed on ebay for sale need to push forward on your own at this point (While I know contacting him is impossible now, I still will not provide Mike's current email to anyone and break his trust by releasing personal information. However, I do know he reads this thread so anything posted here he can address directly himself)That sounds rather.................ominous.

I will say what my father would say, he worked in a bulk mail center that anything that came in or out of a 4 state area comes through. "It's not surprising things come in late or lost, it's that it doesn't happen more often." And after seeing the semi organized chaos myself that is a feat itself.

Question about a possible Batman foreign edition
in Comics General

Any idea of the country and or issue of this comic. I'm guessing an asian edition and possibly around silver age.
