  1. So, plan's changed, and I'm just... wow. So I rang up to get my $113 refund, and they told me no, it's a gift certificate. I politely (at all times I was perfectly polite, just to be clear) informed them that I really need it as a refund, and this is the first I'm hearing of it as a gift certificate. She said she'd check, came back and said yeah, gift certificate. I was honest and said had I known that I wouldn't have bought the book for $113 extra as right now cash is more useful to me than an Amazon gift certificate. I said I have medications I need to purchase and extra expenses (funerary expenses for my beloved cat, I didn't say that though of course), and didn't realise I'd be taking that money out of play. She asked to be excused for moment, left me on hold for about 4 minutes, then came back and said we can do the refund. I thanked her. She interrupted me. "Let me keep talking." She then told me I was getting a full refund of $285, and that I can keep the book, courtesy of Amazon. I was blown away. I thanked her profusely for her kindness. I would have been teary if my meds didn't stop that, I was that overwhelmed with her kindness. She just asked if there was anything else I could do for her today, please fill out the survey, and we ended the call. I'd been saying I wanted to read this book during my journey of getting over Chloe, I wanted to use this to do it, distract me when needed most. Well, Chloe provided for me. I know a lot of you hate Amazon. But experiences like this are why I use them. I've never had a bad experience, and this one has truly blown my mind.
  2. No, some guy who threatened to change the industry by making someone the next... Todd McFarlane. He's clearly got no idea of the current industry, and stopped following comics in the initial Image era. "You could be the next Marc Silvestri!" "Who's that, Grandpa?" Terrific Comics is there name. I think his name is Andrew Rev?
  3. Thanks mate. Already had someone from Reddit confirm it too. Amazon are organising to get me a new copy at the same price, which is good of them, as it's gone up over a hundred dollars since I bought it. I have to let them know when it ships, and they'll refund me the $113AU difference, which is good of them. I am disappointed though, as this is the book I was going to read to help me while I deal with the loss of my beloved cat, Chloe, but now I can't, as my copy simply has too many errors. It bugs me. I've moved on to Absolute Doomsday Clock.
  4. @MagnusX and anyone else that purchased the Moon Knight By Huston Omni, can you please do me a quick favour, and check your copies for me? Go to The Bottom #6, the opening pages of the story. Is your text on those pages out of register? Because mine is, badly, and I just want to make sure they're not all like that before I get a replacement organised from Amazon. Thank you, and here's what mine looks like.
  5. I've managed to get a bit of focus and get some reading done, albeit not much. I've mainly read the new Green Lantern series by Jeremy Adams (#2 was so hard to get for some reason, none on eBay, had to rely on a lucky find at a random Melbourne comic store I'd never heard of), which was pretty decent so far, to be honest. Just wish it had more Kyle. Omnibus-wise I've read Aquaman by Geoff Johns, and the Green Lantern Corps omnibus volume 1. Both were great reads, although through no fault of its own, GLC duplicates a decent chunk of material from the first Johns Green Lantern by necessity, like the Sinestro Corps War, and the Recharge miniseries. Recharge was a breeze to reread, but I found SCW to be a real slog. Go figure. It's one of my favourite stories too. I've just started the Moon Knight by Huston etc omnibus, which is stuff I love, so it's a breeze to date. Another great time ahead of me. And that's my attempts at moments of normality in what is a very dysfunctional time in my life. I'm up to 818 books read for the year. Take care everyone. Best wishes to you all.
  6. Yeah, I collected 52 and read it weekly as it came out, but that's the last time I read it, so to be honest, it may as well be new to me, besides the BIG plot points, of course, which I still remember the answers to. Doomsday Clock I also bought whenever the heck it decided to come out, but I never got around to reading it. I was saving the issues until I had a good amount to get through, and then I just never got around to it. But I love the creators involved, and for the price I couldn't say no. Worst case scenario is I hate it and sell it and lose $10 on my purchase price. No big deal. But even if I hated it, which is unlikely, I'd probably be inclined to keep it for my Geoff Johns collection.
  7. And ordered. I hope you're happy with what you've done. I hope you sleep peacefully tonight, with no regrets about what you've done this morning. ........
  8. Damn you, this has got my 2 favourite runs in it. I'll order a copy in the morning. Thanks, I hate you.
  9. Not bad. Very different from what I was expecting. Can't wait to see it.
  10. Can you please let us know what this is like? I'm interested in this, but have only read Huston and Finch's run. I have no idea what the rest is like, if it's worth a purchase. I could do with some good Moon Knight reading, is this it?
  11. I also added the Strange Adventures Deluxe Edition. I've got the regular hardcover of it, but enjoyed it so much I wanted to upgrade to the Deluxe now that's an option. It's a bit larger, and has about 100 pages of extra features, so it's not a complete waste of money. It was also cheap, 50 bucks, originally 110.
  12. Check out this Boba Fett he just posted recently on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/stephen___platt/p/C31nFPoLYuN/?hl=en&img_index=1
  13. Don't know what those translate to in Celsius, but I'll take mine well done, please.
  14. Why don't you, Mitch? You were quite close to him and his inner circle, weren't you?
  15. From here on is about all that's survived. Note it's the general Probation Discussion Thread, so you'll have to ignore some cross-talk.
  16. Then why is it still raw? I accuse you of taking it out of the packaging and just cutting it up and throwing some grass cuttings on it, SIR.
  17. Well the only way we're probably going to get an answer is to ask Mrs Bails herself, something I'm not comfortable doing. The last time I remember seeing her mention the topic was somewhere between 2016-2018 I'd estimate, and she still hadn't been paid back at all at that stage. While possible of course, logically I don't see why he would have paid her back afterwards. In hindsight imo we should have used our power as a group to apply pressure and try to get assistance for this poor woman.
  18. Couldn't help myself, got a good deal on Amazon for the 52 omnibus and the Absolute Doomsday Clock. I'm hopeless.
  19. Does anyone here own the Strange Adventures Deluxe Edition hardcover? I only own the regular edition hardcover, the own they rereleased when it came out in collected form initially, but I LOVE the series, so it's absolutely one I'd like to upgrade to a deluxe edition. Is it worth it though? Does anyone have pics of said Deluxe Edition? I'm talking about the one written by Tom King, btw. Thanks to anyone who is able to assist.
  20. I wasn't aware death washed away one's bad deeds. If you'll excuse me, I must go celebrate OJ Simpson, since that's how it apparently works now. Edit: But seriously Shad, among those he scammed, he scammed a grieving widow. For years, possibly never paid back. That's low. You want to defend that, be my guest.
  21. Aaaand speaking of creeps....
