  1. Thank the gods for Geoff Johns. Curse the gods for allowing Jim Starlin to then try and mess it up again. Luckily his attempt didn't take.
  2. I see nothing but Greg Land 'art'. I weep.
  3. Just finished a reread of Invincible (yep, already) and that takes me up to 1261 books read since I started tracking, which was May 19th. I'd love to hit 1300 before the year is over, but I'm not quite sure I'll make it. The pressure is on!
  4. Yep, I've got nothing of interest to sell, plus I'm overseas, so I sent what I could straight away to his PayPal. It wasn't much, but it was literally all the spare cash I had/have on me. I myself stocked up for the next week with my medicines so I can safely weather the public holidays and the crowds they bring after. Had I known I would have not bought my meds and donated more, but alas, that's not how things worked out. So I'm sorry Jim, for the pitiful amount I sent you, but know that it was all I have, sent without hesitation. Hopefully that makes up for the amount.... somewhat?
  5. I don't consider a credible company one that takes money for gimmicked grades, aka the Bad Idea transparent bought grades, that was wrong on a few levels. That's just the first thing that comes to mind. There's a tonne more.
  6. Please don't say "Get 'er done" about the nice old lady.
  7. Damn elite comic readers. Them and their good looks, muscles out the wazoo, tanned skin, why I oughtta.....
  8. Get ready to celebrate, everyone! It is Tom Bawcock's Eve in Mousehole, England. Enjoy the day by enjoying a good old Stargazy Pie.
  9. Just remember to send it as Family And Friends so he gets the full amount, and doesn't get charged a fee for receiving it. You'll get charged a small fee, but he'll get the full amount. I almost forgot to switch them myself this morning, I was doing it while still dopey, and nearly made this exact mistake. Luckily I caught it in time.
  10. Almost up to date on this now, two episodes to go. Loving it, just as good as the comics in its own way. My only dislike was Amber in season one. She was giving him all that carp over his absences and throwing tanties, but then reveals she knew his secret anyway? Good gods woman, what the hell? That made no sense and just made me hate her. Maybe it's just me, but they seemed to have tried to make her more likeable in season two so far, and it's working, but still. I didn't mind the change to the Atlantis sequence, though it's weird the show seems to be going out of it's way to avoid the word 'sex' or any connotation of it, but I did like that Aquarus was a title, and that doesn't seem to be the case on the show version. Oh well.
  11. Looking forward to a new X-Men game on your Xbox? Well it won't be happening before 2036. Sony has an exclusive deal with Marvel for all X-Men games too until then. Frankly, I'm getting sick of Marvel. Now they're ruining my favourite franchise by making me buy a new console if I want to play their video games? that and them. https://www.windowscentral.com/gaming/xbox-is-not-allowed-x-men-games-until-2036-according-to-illegally-breached-insomniac-games-materials
  12. I'm glad we have the green label Hulk 181 example to make it crystal clear to folk just how bad this guy is, and why he needs to be stopped. I don't expect to hear anything from CGC for quite some time, and even then just a simple "Okay" from Mike, and a new rule-change from up-high regarding reholders. Hopefully they're in crisis mode behind the scenes now, surely?
  13. Terrible news. Stay strong, Jimbo, you can get through this. Meanwhile you're in all our thoughts and prayers. Thanks for letting us know about this Sharon, and I look forward to the fundraiser. Let's get this lad back on track as best we can! Heal well, Jimbo, and heal hearty!
  14. I finished the Invincible Universe Compendium. This contains Atom Eve, Atom Eve And Rex Splode, Guarding The Globe (both miniseries), and the Invincible series. All were a good read with high-quality art. It was nice seeing the full origins of Eve and Rex, and to get the full story of the Guardians, as during the main series there's some characters who are just suddenly there, and you never learn who they are. This fills in those blanks, and does so well, giving them some nice depth and character in a short amount of page time. It also goes into the Guardians' personal lives, which was probably my favourite part of it all. Highly recommended for an Invincible fan. This is book number 1100 something for me.
  15. I've received those a couple of times. Instantly turned them down for that reason. Except once, when the seller explained he had a second, and sent me photos of what was clearly a different item, in slightly better condition than the one I'd just bid on. I happily took that one.
  16. Good to see you, Oakman. How're things? Kav's left for good, but he's doing well. And merry Xmas to you and yours!
  17. I admire the love put into these, the passion for the medium. They're kind of cool.
  18. If any of my boardie friends wish to gift me a FF #1 you are more than welcome to. Multiples of you, even. I promise I won't say no.
  19. You've never bought books off @Get Marwood & I I take it?
