No spoilers but the coffee is explained in the story.
Cheers for the response.

I definitely like the office piece more. Wise choice, IMO. One question though, if I may... Why does he carry a cup of coffee if he can't drink it with the helmet on?

Uhh...

I want to say FF #1, but I'm having a hard time dismissing AF15, or even ASM 1. AF15 really captures the essence of a hero so well, in a way that FF1 doesn't even concern itself with. It's hard to pass on.

With respect to the OP, I don't believe many collectors beyond this forum know PGX notorious history as well.
Hence, I'm satisfied in leaving the Ff#1 'as is' in my collection.
When the day comes to sell, I believe the 5.5 pgx will sell for more then the 4.5 cgc grade it deserves. Furthermore, IMHO, I don't think the buyer would even contemplate my previous sentence in making their purchasing decision.

You have 30 days EBay, 45 days with PayPal and 60 days with credit card company to file a claim. Always fast track if it is high value book.
Good luck.
No, you have 180 days with PayPal.

@comicwiz The CEO is Todd DeMartino. The guy took pre-orders for a book he was writing--in 2006--and probably still hasn't finished it/ refunded several people their money. He has the time to start a sub-par grading company, but not the time to finish his already-funded book?
DeMartino also attempted to auction off fake prototypes. He assembles unused flats and gave the strong impression that you were buying an actual preproduction complete ROTJ X-Wing (I think it was an X-Wing, it may have been an ATST, this was many years ago). The Kenner Employee who sold DeMartino the flat protested, and was ignored until he started a public thread on it. Incredibly shady, and since that incident I'd never trust DeMartino whatsoever.

Sorry to hear this. Hope they catch the jerk, and that your property is swiftly returned.

Do you get Previews? Some LCSs are rather poor at plucking good cover variants out of the flood of monthly offerings and ordering them. You may need to pre order yourself.
My LCS is good, but they got flooded by requests, and ultimately sold them for a price I was unwilling to pay. I don't blame them, and they're good to me, and give me variants when they can, so no harm no foul on this one, as far as I'm concerned.

Sandman. Maus. I really want to read both, I just haven't got around to it.
Better add Sandman Mystery Theatre to that list as well. Another one I'd like to.
-
They were a lot harder to get here. I couldn't get any here through my LCS, and they're the biggest in the country. Plus the issue itself was about $10 anyway, iirc, so getting 4 variants, particularly Lau's, for just $50 is a very good deal.

Found a good deal on the set of Lau FF covers--$50AU for the set. Snapped that baby up straight away. Can't wait to receive them.

good call, the Hickman stuff was actually quite good and I remember it fondly. But were sales up?
I'm gonna go with 'probably'. I checked 2 random issues, and by pure coincidence they were the months of 587 and 588. 587 sold over 115, 000 copies and was number 1 on the charts, with no. 2 coming in around 73k. 588 was number 5, obviously dropping because we're now in post-death territory. But those are pretty respectable numbers. 601 sold over 51k copies, again respectable considering the New 52 had just launched, and was doing bonkers sales, and pushing Marvel down the charts. And yes, I do realise my numbers are all based around events. I randomly clicked years and months, and this is what I got. Decide for yourself what that means. Just found a random Millar month, and early Hickman (574) was below that. I'd wager it became bigger than Millar/Hitch, and that it's still evergreen in reprints. Wouldn't say that about Millar's run.

With that being said, the new FF art doesn't look great, though I have seen worse FF art. But really FF hasn't strongly connected with fans consistently in a LONG LONG time, so I don't know if its WORSE than it was.
Since Hickman's run, so.. 2011ish? More like a SHORT, SHORT time.

Cringe Worthy!...Wonder what Joe Sinnott & John Byrne think about this? And Jack Kirby...ugghh
Let Byrne rant to himself about it, like the nasty, crazy old man he is.

I didn't mind it, but it felt like just another issue of Marvel Two-in-One, not the relaunch issue of the FF. They even kinda acknowledged this in Skottie Young's short. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I was expecting after all this time. Definitely a bit disappointed by it.

PGX = Professional Grading Experts
What should we change the new abbreviation for them?
Like Poor Grading IneXpert.
Pages Gone X-Men (may as well capitalise on the infamy)
Pages Guarantee eXtra
Probably Going X-Rated (your language after cracking a PGX slab)
-
I believe you're right. Even if you want to use the curled page as an explanation, it still ain't right. Nice catch!
-
Sigh. Things couldn't look worse for this book. Just..... such a shame. Such a shame.

Those wear patterns don't look real to me at all. I'm going with fake.

This is a trainwreck. OP, I'd wish to be done with you as soon and as shortly as possible, too. That's one of the worst eBay listings I've seen in recent years. I'm surprised you HAVE customers.

I've been a huge Artgerm fan ever since I found his Deviant Art account, back before he was even doing pro comics. I cannot get enough of his work, I even have the issue of Heavy Metal he was involved in.
