It's not that it wasn't 'Ross enough' for me, it's that Ross' paints came off to me as often appearing... muddy, is the best way I can describe it. Maybe it's just me, maybe it's the reproduction of this particular edition (I don't think so, but it's a possibility), but some pages, IMO, don't have a crispness to them I associate with Ross' work, and no, it's not the pencils at play causing it. 

My Mafex Hush Batman arrived today. Stunningly beautiful figure. So indescribably happy to have it. Furai Hound was also in the box, ready to be built when I see a mate in a few weeks time and we build some kits together. I'm pretty intimidated by this one. SS86 Ratchet was also in there, he's nice, along with some other stuff like the latest ROTJ Luke from Star Wars Black, and the Gundam Universe Gundam 00 QANTT figure, which is pretty nice, especially for the nice. 

Separately my Mattel DCUC Alan Scott Green Lantern figure also arrived. I know I should have had him years ago. His expression turned me off buying him. Glad to expand my JSA and include him, but I still don't like that headsculpt. 

All in all, a great day. 

Time to embarrass myself. I've run out of Brodarts, and I can't remember what size and the other details I need for omnibus size ones. Does anyone happen to have this information please? And where is the cheapest and most reliable place to order them from, that will ship to Australia? Iirc last time I ordered them it was from Block. I go for the non-stick ones (are there even still sticky ones? I don't remember, but I don't want them, just the regular clear plastic, paper-backed ones).

Green Lantern by Grant Morrison Season 1 Volume 1 - the back of the book blurb proclaimed this to be a psychodelic hit. I found nothing psychodelic about it, except for the GL with the exploding volcano head, I guess. Still, it was a decent read, and I intend to buy further volumes further down the track. 

Rereads of Transformers #5, Thundercats #1. Still can't get used to Tygra's moustache. It's just wrong. Transformers is just a quality read. It deserves to be on everyone's pull list, Transformers fan or not, it's THAT good. 

Green Lantern Kyle Rayner Compendium - now we're talking. This started at Emerald Twilight and went from there. Same material as was in the single volumes they released, I rebought it just to show support and hopefully lead to more of Kyle's run getting modern reprints. I'd love to see his whole series collected in Compendium form, tbh. I loved it so much at the time. Just good, classic comics. 

Justice hardcover - this is pretty decent, if not a bit too much into the Super friends for me, who were before my time, so I don't get the nostalgia huffs from it. Still it's enjoyable enough, with some decent twists. Is it just me or is some of Ross' art a bit muddy looking in this book? 

That puts me up to 495 books read for the year, and you won't hear from me for awhile, as now I'm starting on the Johns Green Lantern omniboo. I've read everything in the first 2 before (I dropped the book precisely where book 2 finishes, which works out perfectly I'd say, leaving me with book 3 as all-new material) so I'm very keen to get to book 3, which is still enroute, but will have no doubt arrived by the time I'm ready for it. 

Alright, GL by Johns volume 1 arrived today, and volume 2 arrived last week. Volume 3's still in transit but I'd say we're ready to party! Time for a reread (conveniently, I stopped following the books right where volume 2 finishes. So volume 3 is all-new material for me. That works out really well.) 

Someone sent in a 5.0 graded book to an Ah, who sent it in for a regrade, and it came back a 4.5. 130 people believe the likeliest explanation for this is that the book was swapped out. Why are people so stupid??

To those who have the Geoff Johns Green Lantern omniboo, is there much overlap between them and the Blackest Night omnibus? Do the GL omnis contain the main BL story as well as the GL tie-in issues?

Dr. Fate has never been officially released.  However, Blue Beetle appeared in only one set (Ser# 76054) almost ten years ago in this incarnation:

 

 

 

Thanks Buzz, you're a legend. I didn't think that Dr Fate looked right for some reason. Good attempt though, I'll give it that. 

@Buzzetta did DC do many characters in Lego blind bags? I know they did some, as I bought a Catman. But did they do characters like Dr Fate, Stargirl, and Ted Kord Blue Beetle? Someone showed them off on Reddit, along with other supposed DC Lego's, and I want them, but only if they're legit.

I normally don't like Morales' art either (it's his noses that do it for me, I can't stand his noses) but I thought he did alright in Hawkman, for the most part. Totally understand you feeling the opposite though. 

And that's high praise for JSA, but IMO we'll-earned. It's quality all the way (well, not counting the last few issues which Johns didn't do, and they're still not too bad). Are you going to read Omni 3 now? It's a very different tone IMO. Strong first 7 issues or so, but I'm not personally a fan of My Kingdom Come, the semi-sequel to Kingdom Come. It just doesn't do much for me.

Lol just went to BBTS and their big newest item for preorder is a 1/12 scale Halo Carter* figure. "Hot damn I need that!" I thought, and went to preorder it. $180US. Yeeeaaahhhh not so much, it seems.

*Carter is my absolute favourite Halo character. 

Contents for the DC/Marvel Omnis have been updated. Everything is in the Amalgam one now, bar the 2 issues done by Gerard Jones.

I just never wanted the whole wave, and thought it was 'too expensive' to buy whole waves back then just for CNC's I wanted. Boy if me back then knew today's prices! It was a great time. I could spend big bucks and time trying fruitlessly to get these new McFarlane releases, or I could fill in holes from my Mattel collection, and expand it. I'll take option B) thanks.

I got a grail of mine today: Mattel DCUC CNC Kilowog. He's an absolute monster so scale is right out the window, but the sculpt is just gorgeous. I love him and he's going to look great with all my other Lanterns.
