  1. Like every other hobby, the health of print comics relies heavily on the younger generation taking over. Stamp collectors and model train collectors are going the way of the dodo, as the average age of both hobbies now are people who are in their 60's. That's not good, as the age continues to creep up. Curious to know what the average age is for print comics at this juncture. 40's? Is it still trending up?
  2. Did the movie CLUE do that with 3 or 4 different endings?
  3. Case in point: 4 comics that should cost $20 total last week, now asking for cover price + a 'stupid' tax : https://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-100-Page-Giant-Wal-Mart-SET-Batman-Teen-Titans-Superman-Justice-League-1st/332704300780?hash=item4d76b8beec%3Ag%3ADxsAAOSww7RbN6uT&_sacat=0&_nkw=dc+wal-mart&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313 https://www.ebay.com/itm/SOLD-OUT-All-4-new-DC-Rebirth-100-page-GIANT-Comics-Wal-Mart-Exclusives/163146914400?hash=item25fc505a60%3Ag%3A2nAAAOSwFdpbSOiA&_sacat=0&_nkw=dc+wal-mart&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313 https://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-Comics-100-Page-Giant-Wal-Mart-Batman-Superman-Justice-League-Teen-Titans-1/332720870397?hash=item4d77b593fd%3Ag%3AmJkAAOSwJRxbQSw6&_sacat=0&_nkw=dc+wal-mart&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313

  5. In all honesty, your question was a little confusing. You said childhood- '80's and '90's, I mean there were actually 2 Iron Man #1's printed in the 1990's (Heroes Reborn, Heroes Return, and probably some mini series thrown in there). So, cool if you have a nice copy of a 1968, but MINT is a tough word to throw around on a comic book, unless 2 parties *buyer and seller, or an outside grading service *like CGC can agree on it. If you plan on selling, it may be best to go the CGC route to get max value on ebay or auction for your higher dollar books. Welcome to the boards, hope you can find answers to your questions.
  6. Does CGC encapsulate 'balls'? (there's a joke in there somewhere......GO!!)
  7. Just read it last night. If Nick Spencer can avoid his overt political social justice garbage, I will give him a shot on this title.
  8. Have Romita Jr. pencil it, and we have a true dumpster fire.
  9. Whoa, whoa, whoa.....let's not get crazy here. I personally have zero faith in Nick Spencer after Secret Empire. That could have been a 2 part 'What If' story far as I am concerned. Good old Cosmic Cube! Always there to bail out a terrible storyline.
  10. Doesn't this then contradict the original OP's question about which comics to Buy/Sell/Spec or Hold? Nobody is plopping down extra cash for an Ipad with a 'first appearance digital download' comic.
  11. I am in disbelief that we are discussing the 'investment' strategy of the 4 aforementioned characters. As MadGenius pointed out 3 are basically poor man Spidey knock offs, and Ms. Marvel is getting outsold by Go Go Power Rangers, and Mera Queen of Atlantis. Have at it though. I mean even Silver Sables first appearance has come around.
  12. I agree that it's a shame, that he didn't want to deal with accolades or appearances in regards to his comic work. Whatever reclusive tendencies he had, or phobias he hid, he certainly stood by them. He didn't owe anybody anything. It just would have been nice if he could have gotten over that aspect of his life, and could see/feel the joy that he brought to millions of fans in person. But, it was his life.
  13. He was greatness. It's a shame he became so reclusive. Thousands of fanboys would have loved to have met him at CONS.
  14. Welcome to hell (aka trying to organize your comic collection).
  15. I never understood the rocket on his belt buckle. Where does a rocket play into this? He was injured in a car wreck, and was a stuntman. There was no rocket involved. I guess a 'fly' on a belt buckle wouldn't be very becoming. But it would make more sense to put say, a dumpster on his belt buckle, not a rocket.
  16. How often do I buy from Mile High? How often have you bare-chested-wrestled with the Animal Spirit of the Great Colorado Grizzly Bear?!? The answer to that is never my friend............never.....
  17. Not interested in horror comics (or movies). They have pretty much covered every gruesome way to die in comics/movies/books/video games. Now it seems to have accelerated in real life with the mass shootings, terrorism, internet, dark web etc. We are inundated with horrible stories about random death (just look at Yahoo's home page everyday). I watched the Walking Dead for awhile, then it just devolved into gore porn. If you found Glenn getting his head bashed in 'entertaining', you may need help. I prefer to focus on the beauty of life, and laughing as much as possible, because life is truly short.
