The Quartzite show! It actually runs for a month or so, and has a lot of stuff. Last time I was there in the early 90s I picked up some dinosaur fossils to inspire the science classes that I was teaching at that time.

Blue Bolt V3#4 1942 Novelty Press
Beautiful and colorful WWII cover!
Back cover is missing. Front cover cleanly detached. Tiny chip out of top and a couple tiny staple tears. Flat and clean with no other tears or creases. Inside pages are lightly yellowed but real nice with no damage and supple. "looks great in a mylar"...
$35.

Smoked fish! My family used to buy from the roadside stands along PCH every time we went to the beach. That habit ceased when we all got Montezuma's revenge from a bad piece of fish one time.

So one evening my dad came home from work with a Prince Valiant sword and shield set for me and one for my little brother. We had a great time whacking and stabbing at each other. Unfortunately, the pressed tin shield was a LOT sturdier than the blade on the swords, and in under a day both swords were broken. My dad, who was an insurance sales agent and knew everyone in our area, took the swords back to the toy store and got them replaced. Next day, same thing. About the third or fourth time we broke the swords, the shields sort of disappeared, along with the scabbard and belt. Oh well.

Ditto. Checked the NY-to-TX exchange rate; unfortunately still 1-to-1.
I don't need to check the exchange rate: I just look at my bank balance. Sadly, no Four Favorites 11 for me!

You guys are aware of this thread, right?`

My first comic was a Brave and the Bold, but pre-superhero. I can't remember anything about it except that there was a Silent Knight story. I was a sucker for anything with knights or dinosaurs. I think my second comic was a Classics Illustrated: Journey to the Center of the Earth (Dinosaurs), and I liked Turok, too (Dinosaurs again!).

The ears and face remind me of the Yellow Kid.
