  1. Because I know a couple years ago he already asked 2-3x what it’s worth. That’s the harm
  2. This. Someone here PMd me the other week asking me to make an offer on their page which was not for sale. No thanks!
  3. HUSH heroes gatefold or Killing Joke cover, I think. JL probably owns those, too
  4. Inks on digital with no original pencils (though I feel I’ll be forced to accept this soon) and who the seller is. There’s one rep I won’t bother emailing any more, because he simply never responds. How you can do that when clients are trying to buy your artist’s art at asking is beyond me. Also, considerable damage, whether fading, creasing, etc. I don’t know how some of you guys can toss around a 5 figure page, no Mylar, like a hot potato
  5. Got a Long Halloween cover and a couple Hush pages. Primarily looking for anything Hush bump.
  6. Bump. 2-3 Hush pages picked up but mainly looking for a cover or splash. Will pay ~35K for a cover and close to that for the better splashes. And thanks, Bill.
  7. Oh, he refunded. Apologies, thought that was implied. He just went to great length to tell me the deal is firm and final with absolutely no refunds, and then has seller’s remorse and refunds. And no, it was not a Killing Joke splash, Bill lol. Unfortunately I don’t have the 3-400k that would take on hand to pull that off
  8. I bought a splash a few months ago way above market. The seller boasted about his credentials, his pop culture podcast, that he ran a gallery, stated no refunds and sales final multiple times, formally wrote it in the PayPal invoice, accepted my payment after I essentially sold another piece to fund it, then didn’t respond for a couple days after a slew of immediate responses, informing me he “no longer has the piece” and that legally, the state of Califnoria says I have no recourse. (He had buyer’s remorse and still has it.) Does that count?
  9. Looking to buy pages from Batman: HUSH and Batman: The Long Halloween. Primarily looking for a cover, splash, or DPS, but will definitely consider pages as well. Yes, I’m familiar with steep prices and will offer accordingly. HUSH: Offering 30-35+ for the better splashes and 35-45ish for covers. Open to buying straight-out, or if necessary doing trade or cash + trade, but would prefer straight cash. My CAF is http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=91867 Offering a finder’s fee of 5%, which can be fairly hefty on some pieces. PM me.
  10. Oof at that Emma Frost. I recall a recent Tim Sale Batman cover, Bats embracing Catwoman, with all three of his arms lol. When I collected commissions, the lettering of “Arkham” in the background of a piece was horribly unbalanced, so I got rid of it a few months later. That was probably the most “absurd.” There’s been a number of pieces I’ve passed on because of funky or dead panels detracting from an otherwise great image. Now if I see something that bothers me, I move on. If I don’t love it in its entirety, I don’t want it. Unless it’s DKR. I will take anything DKR
  11. I was eyeing the Expression but they were like 2K+ USD I’ve read they’re the best and what Grafitti Designs uses when they scan artwork for Gallery Editions. Anyhow, shocked and very pleased by the ridiculously good quality of the Brother, so I am pleased Thanks for the info, all.
  12. Alright, here's a scan of the Brother all-in-one that arrived today, linked above at a very affordable $150 CAD. This is at 8% magnification (original scan is huge), unedited in Photoshop. 1200dpi, uncompressed TIFF. This thing is shockingly good! Only con is the thing is massive, but it does have wifi, so you can store it wherever you like.
  13. Just picked up this based on thread recommendation. Half off sale and free shipping, at least for Canadians. Maybe US site has a comparable sale? https://www.brother.ca/en/p/MFCJ6530DW
  14. Most people use a scanner. Good 11x17” scanners are absurdly expensive, so I just ask for scans from whoever I buy from. Most of the time they can provide.
  15. That's the thing about stolen comic artwork. If you try and sell it, you're probably gonna get caught. Glad they found the guy.
  16. Very cool, thanks! I’ve chatted with the original owner of the 616 cover a number of times. He used to own another cover as well as that Ivy/Cat splash as well as the three pages I own. Had a lot! All gone now, however.
  17. @Khazano and others, what happened with Hush at first offering, anyhow? What were covers and splashes at originally? I know Jim and Scott sold a chunk to collector friends, and some pieces at monstrous prices even by today’s standards, but don’t know much beyond that as I wasn’t around then. Have always been curious.
  18. They've listed everything honestly. The rep is a good guy, very transparent. There's 7 pages (including the variant #2 cover...Joker and mini Bats, which went for 11K) that were sold which they haven't listed, however. And correct, the three BIN pages not sold dropped slightly and the Freeze splash I picked up dropped a bit. That one also included the prelim, and Sean said DC will likely use it as the cover to the collected edition (but who knows!)
  19. SGM posted some art for sale just now, as well as about half of the pages that sold along with prices. Not sure why half. http://seanmurphyart.bigcartel.com/category/batman?page=1
  20. Valid points, @Comic Art Factory, and an interesting opposing view. @Khazano I believe SGM is most well known for his indy work. The Wake, Chrononauts, Tokyo Ghost, etc. He's worked with some tremendous writer, and as an incredibly visual story teller himself, as a track-record of exceptional books.
  21. Here's first 2/4 pages posted to CAF, if interested: http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1427972 http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1427973
