So the deadline to submit for this epic signing (april19,2024) has past. Does anyone know if the actual signing has happened? I submitted a lot of books and just curious as to when I will be getting my books back.

Keep an eye on their social media...they usually post when the singing happens.

That doesn't sound super helpful of them does it, I suppose they are trying not to make promises in writing to cover themselves but it is not reassuring of them. It has put me off from ordering with them. Is it possible to arrange returning your comic in some kind of return to sender packaging/box where they will simply put the replacement comic book into the received box and return it to you? That way you maybe can control the quality of their packaging better? If it say $10 or less to return the comic (tracked/insured!) and get a new replacement it might be worth asking if that is an option? I think that is what I would do

I know that I can probably put more pressure on them to make it right or even put in a claim, but again that is just not how I roll. I paid them what they asked and expected a service. They failed. This time I will just move on, they just lost a costumer. I honestly don't think its worth all the trouble, and even though I am right in this situation I don't want to be a pain to them. They made some good profit from the $125 they charged, they could do more to make it right, but they don't seem to care so its all good.

I've ordered from Jetpack sporadically over the years and they simply do not place emphasis on packing and shipping care. I've bought comics worth hundreds of dollars and they've been shipped with no bag or board, between two thin pieces of cardboard in a priority envelope. During Covid they sold TMNT mystery boxes. I bought a couple and they dump a pile of random books unprotected in a box, tape it up and ship it out. Now I don't even bother looking at their site.

My advice would be to not even bother trying for a replacement copy from them.

Wow are you kidding me! Ya I think some of the damage on my book was due to the packaging. It was simply put in a bag and board, then had a thin layer of bubble wrap around it, then placed into a bigger box where it was pretty much just sliding around. I have collected comics for a long time, I am no novice and I know that damage on my book was not from the printing technique they stated...it was definitely due to some handling issues  lol

    Excellent keep us posted!

Ok so got a response yesterday. Jetpack said if I'm not happy with the book then I can send back and they will TRY and pick a better one, although they did not make any claim of any condition. We will try and send a better one just does not cut it. I now have to pay to send the package back to the east coast, just to take a chance at a better one? In my opinion, that should have been done from the get go...the one I got should not have been shipped. At least not at full price, they should have been sold later as B grade copies at a discount. $142 is enough I don't want to end up paying more for this book. I will just cut my loses now. I just wont be buying from them anymore. It will make a cool $142 display piece lol

Hey @eastbayrudy sorry to hear about your comic turning up less than ideal. If you purchased it via https://portsmouthminicon.com/product/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-1-40th-anniversary-edition/ they do still have a few copies left, it may be worth reaching out to them to see if they will replace it? It's surely worth a try, don't settle while it is still possible to improve the situation. Perhaps in hindsight you'll be glad you did and you deserve to love this comic, not settle! Keep us posted :) PS: I'm not a grader (I wish I could grade my comics) but my copy arrived in the same great condition @rich_TMNT posted it - many thanks rich!

Hey thanks for all your help! I think I will reach out and see what they can do. I was anticipating a 9.2- 9.6 range due to the printing process but I must say mine is like a 8.0 at best lol and the one you posted looks really good compared to mine! I will let you know how it goes. I didn't want to be that guy to complain, but I will see if this can be fixed without being a pain for anyone.

  6. Everyone here has made some good points. I know there was a disclaimer about imperfections but mine looks way worse than imperfections. My package from Mini-Con was also not packaged the best and for $142 shipped for a beat up book Is a little ridiculous. I guess I will just keep it as a reader copy or something. I love the story behind the book and the work that went in to it but it does seem like they were just taking advantage of the situation. Not even the 3-pack from Kevin Eastman was that expensive. You got 3 awesome books in great condition and packed extremely well for $100!

I read mine today! I wanted to read it straight from the press because I wanted to imagine what a first print might have looked like as a new comic, with the artwork and white newsprint not affected by time! As of right now this printing is probably the most affordable way to get a copy of this cover in the original magazine format, and I am afraid to read my second, third and all other printings - so I am using this printing as a reader to enjoy!

How was the condition of yours...my spine came pretty messed up. Kind of disappointing considering the almost $150 price tag and high print run. Ah, whatever...

  8. One of the few books signed and unwitnessed in my collection is a Todd signed Spider-Man #1 silver direct edition. I got it signed myself by Todd when I was about 12-13 years old at WonderCon Oakland. I dont even think CGC was around back then lol I think it will be my first submission for this new label since it has miraculously stayed in great condition. Its pretty much been stored all these years. I will post here when I get it back to show what it looks like.

May the fourth be with you!  This beaut came in the mail today, perfect timing!  I sent it in as a slabbed 9.8 so I guess it got dinged a little, but I don't care all that much because it came out perfect.

Wow so I guess that does happen...I always here people say they fear that happening after submitting a book for Signature Series. Book looks great, I wonder why they down graded it. Either way awesome book!

Two Deadpool pages from New Mutants #98 were sold at Heritage a little while back as prelims. However, if you listen to Rob Liefeld’s podcast, he and Marat Mychaels explain his process during this era. These were the original pencils done on smaller paper (which is how Rob liked to work) then a Xerox machine was used to reproduce a larger copy which would be inked by Marat.

I wish I had purchased both pieces but could only afford one at the time. Congrats to whoever owned the other! Mine is currently on display at the Marvel Exhibit in Wellington, New Zealand.

Wow what a freaking page to own! Not only is it the first time we ever see Deadpool by the creator but it also features an important moment for Cable! What an awesome piece of Marvel history right there!

    @ADAMANTIUM @eastbayrudy

Thanks for the tag! You can submit a book with multiple Sigs. Reminder: The fee for this is $25 per Signature. @ADAMANTIUM the 2 sig maximum is for the SIGNATURE GRADING service. But if you have a book with 10+ sigs, you can submit this through the CGC x JSA service to have each signature reviewed. We just can not grade the signatures BUT will still grade the book.

Thanks so much this answered all my questions!

Thanks, I got lucky with it here on the boards. It sat for a bit too, I was sure I had blown my chance (was moving some funds around and waiting on some sales proceeds).

My thinking is like yours but in reverse - I thought, I just laid down a decent (for me) chunk of change on this 3rd print, should I really be spending another almost $150 on another reprint? But I think these 40th anniversary reprints - at least the one from Rich for my taste - are cool on a lot of levels, and it's apparent that a lot of work went into making them happen. So I couldn't pass on it.

Exactly. At the end of the day there are a bunch of reprints. All with their own unique touch. But this last one, as of now appears to be the one true reproduction of the original. Pretty cool story behind it if you ask me.
