  1. For Frank Miller, is the only signing option in conjunction with his movie? Will there be options posted for getting 3 or 5 items signed without a sketch option? Thanks!

    .

People take themselves way too seriously...
  3. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who eye rolls when I see new art posted on CAF with the title "first appearance of character no one remembers"
  4. I'm tired of these Facebook dealers that act like they're setting up a friendly community while jacking up artist's rate 2, 3 or 4x and ripping off people who have never bought original art before. Selling modern pages for four figures that re-sell for a couple hundred on the secondary market isn't a community.
  5. That guy is going to make like $27 after what he paid for shipping/taxes and then add in ebay fees.
  6. As a low-end buyer under $300 it seems like over the last few weeks there are more options available again during the weekly Heritage auctions and the last Comicconnect auction.
  7. Jason is very active on social media so if you message him he'll most likely respond
  8. For a photography comparison it would be like we all collected the negatives and someone was trying to sell us prints of the negative claiming it's the same thing
  9. I have a really cool splash page from Gordon of Gotham and brought it for Denny O'Neil to sign a few years ago and he started telling me all these stories about how much he loved writing about Jim Gordon and he really enjoyed that storyline. He talked to me for so long I felt bad for holding up the line haha
  10. Working on completing two separate issues. Until that happens I'll fill that hole in my heart with commissions and other art. If I'm ever able to track down those final pages I'm sure I'll find something else to work on getting.
  11. They're only better if the art sells. eBay is a walking graveyard of great art never to be sold because sellers have unrealistic expectations.
  12. They're all posted as Buy It Now's with double the price. There was a David Williams Batman piece I bought off of Heritage awhile ago for $63 and it sold on ComicConnect for $65. I saw it pop up for sale on Facebook right after the auction with a "make an offer" and since I regretted selling that piece, especially for what it sold for, I reached out thinking the buyer had remorse and offered him $100 and he said he wanted at least $300. If people want to flip that's totally fine but at least be realistic. Two auction house sales in the same ballpark tell you what the piece is worth.
  13. I had just over 100 pieces sell in the last ComicConnect auction and at least ten of them have popped up on ebay, that was surprising.
  14. Like others have said I thought the prices were very high so I didn't buy anything. I thought the commissions were also high and my experiences with those through the event has not been great. I'm still waiting on one from the event last Fall and the event last Spring I had to get a refund because the rep stopped replying to emails and I didn't get my money back until I brought it up in the Facebook groups, (these aren't CAF's fault).
  15. Just get a fine tip sharpie and have them sign outside the margins. If there are word balloons on the page sign away. I've had a bunch of pages signed by writers, asking them to sign outside the margins. I've found that getting pages signed by the creators opens them up to tell some really neat story because they like seeing the art again.
  16. Venmo offers goods and services but PayPal will release the funds once the package is delivered so I don't know why you'd pay twice.
  17. Updated with Sienkiewicz, Lim, Ottley and more. Some big names are getting out there this year!
  18. That seller has many Frank Miller sketches that have been listed for 5+ years. Very optimistic pricing to say the least
  19. https://www.buyfromcomicartists.com updated their home page with a master list of all the Free Comic Book Day signings in the US. Lots of big names like Roy Thomas, Rob Liefeld, Mike DeCarlo, Daniel Warren Johnson and more are making appearances this Saturday, May 7th and offer free signatures and sketches. If you know of any not on the site let me know and I'll get them added!
  20. That was my page I bought directly from Tony and at the time it was one of the more expensive pages on his site. I'm glad it found a good home!
  21. I know I added his site to https://www.buyfromcomicartists.com at some point, hopefully he replies!
  22. I thought it was crowded as well, a little tight for the space but for as busy as it was there seemed to be a ton of time to actually chat with the writers/artists. Shows are so much more enjoyable when you aren't constantly dealing with reps pushing people through as fast as possible.
