You're claiming that other peoples' statements are not valid until they provide documentation to support them, while at the same time refusing to back up your own claim with the same (that you claim to have but won't provide because of a B.S. ethical dilemma)

Yeah, I know there is not much difference between a 9.4 and 9.8 and the concept didn't even exist when I was reading comics. I was careful and put them away bagged and boarded but didn't need a magnifying glass to check their condition! I don't consider my comics an investment but yeah I want the best condition available that I can afford. Maybe someday I'll get Amazing Spider-Man 300 for $2000. Not the best cover but iconic. I'm surprised Hulk 340 is worth anything. Cool cover and Hulk vs. Wolverine but not really key. A Conan 1 9.8 would be cool but right now would result in a lot of explaining as it's several thousand bucks. I'm collecting the comics I loved and also like the covers as art, so sometimes I'll just want a cool cover. You can't go wrong if you collect what you love. It's collecting for someone else that leaves you empty... unless of course you're only in it for the money. That's fair enough I like buying 9.6s when 9.8s are expensive, but 9.6 on books I submit myself do tend to chap my áss a bit.

Why 9.6 if you don't mind me asking? I get why for 9.9 (no rhyme or reason) and 9.2 (because I hate it too). Just curious why you don't like 9.6 but you do like 9.4 (presumably, as it wasn't mentioned).

I believe they do unless you choose the screening service that Hutch mentioned.

Alfred is far too refined for comic books. He prefers to read Shakespeare, Voltaire and Kant, by the fire while sipping (lapping) single malt.

It’s nice to see customer input sought out and acted on. I Do wish CGC would do the same with the more pressing issue of Newton rings however.

Wouldn’t they technically be top feeders if they like 9.8s? just messing of course, but I know what you mean. Maybe if they changed 9.8 to mean “mint minus” instead of near mint / mint, less people would want them.
