  1. Donald Duck is so good, he's on the poll twice
  2. Hector, can you add me to the "Out List" please?
  3. You could have taken the money from the BA 12 sale and reinvested it into other books several times over since the sale and made far more money than the difference in realized prices between your sale price and the current market price. Getting anywhere close to a g-ball for a NM 87 in 9.8 is ridiculous, there is no question that is as good as it could get.If you look hard enough at cons, you can get another raw HG copy and press it to a 9.8. I agree with what you said about the BA 12, but if he sold the BA 12 for a $1000, that would be regrettable. Who's said anything about a NM 87?
  4. Most. Ironic. Statement. Ever. If you don't like losing money, stop trying to flip comics. Because that's what you do, lose money.
  5. I've thought this might be the case as well. Nope I'm not a troll Jesus Gabe, Turtle writes a really great page long post, genuinely trying to give you sound advice, and this is what you take from it?
  6. For $11? For 191 dollars Nice pick up. That's almost half price compared to last sale and I'd have definitely pulled the trigger at that price. Good seller so no chance of scam? - 325 was the last on on ebay ( not recorded on GPA) - still not a bad deal on paper if all the information is correct. Yes all the information is correct and I'll upload pics in a bit Have you received the slab or are the pics just the images the seller gave you? Hard to believe that snyone woupd sell a 181 cgc ss so cheaply. It's a 180 CGC 5.0 SS and he sent me pics of the slab Okay, even so, thats still a sweet buy.last 4.5 lee ss sold at $367..last 5.0 lee ss sold at $325. I'd suggest you put 350 + shipping on it via the board for a 24 hour listing if it doesnt sell here, put it on ebay at the same price, should sell without having to wait too long. I think we need to keep in mind that Gabe doesn't have the book yet. Still plenty of time for something to go wrong. At least he has Paypal protection going for him.
  7. Gabe, I want to ask you to do something, just as an exercise I think might help with your attention to detail. Can you re-write the above (sentence? paragraph?) using proper grammar and punctuation? I'm honestly not trying to be a jerk here. Starting with small things like this might help you take more pride in what you produce, whether it be at work, in your personal life, etc.
  8. No offense Gabe, but you have an issue with both.
  9. Pete and Repeat were in a boat. Pete fell out. Who's left?
  10. When are you going to stop making excuses and using your disability as a crutch?
  11. No, not everyone, not even close. That assumption will prevent you from succeeding. Perhaps saying everyone wasn't the best idea but it's certainly a trend and I don't see it often here but I see it from time to time. "I see it from time to time" ≠ "it's certainly a trend" Many people are saying its a trend. They're telling me 'hey, it's trend to buy hot comics.' And I buy all the hottest comics. People ask me why they're so hot, they burn my hands, but I buy them anyways. Even the ones I buy by mistake, they're still so hot. That's what everyone tells me.

  13. Gabe, that doesn't make sense. Anything with a negative sign is something you lost money on? What about: JLA #1 CGC NG Buy $210usd Sell $115 if you bought it for $210 and sold it for $115, then you lost money, and there is no negative sign. Most of the entries are like this. Only 7 entries have - signs, but all 28 are losses, no? If you mean what I think you mean then books you lost out completely on should look like this (In Gabe formatting): Giant Size X-men #2 2.0 Buy $21.72usd Sell $0 If this is your bookkeeping technique it's amazing that you're not deeper in the hole. You can't sell something for $-21.72
  14. This is Ralph. I want my book back.
  15. My concern is that he refers to CGC as "The CGC." I saw that somewhere before
  16. Has anyone noticed a change in the layout on ebay? I'll try to explain what I mean. When looking at an item before, at the top of the page it would look something like: Listed in Category: Collectibles > Comics > Silver Age > Superhero > Batman I used to click where it said "Comics" and it would automatically bring me to a list of every comic listing, and I could sort from the drop down. Now, when clicking on the comics category from the top of a listing it brings me to some mess page where I have to choose a sub-category (golden, silver bronze etc) Then there's are are a bunch more filters to scroll past and eventually a list of just the comics in that sub-category with no drop-down menu to sort. Anybody know how to access the old style? Am I missing something simple here?
  17. I don't think people will do this I'm pretty sure we all see your updates.
  18. Instead of starting a new thread, I figured I'd ask here. What would you rather have, a mis-cut 6.0 (top image) Or a 4.5 cut more squarely (bottom) 6.0 is about $60 more
  19. Does he strike you as the kind of person that will put in the type of work it will require to do anything with comics on $11 per week? No. No he doesn't. But I do think most of us reading would agree that showing a measure of budget self control and limiting losses is a huge step in the right direction, and obviously far preferable to dumping thousands into a fire pit. And who knows, if he can save for a few months without spending anything, he'll have a bit of useful working capital...I know a lot of people on the boards who can scratch out some solid profit with $200, some work, and some luck. Maybe he can one of those people A 400 square foot fire pit? Sorry, I had to.
