  1. In 3rd grade, one of my friends brought in an early silver age flash. It was beat to hell, probably a 2.0 or worse. Asked him if I could read it. Instantly fell in love with the character, art and story. Been obsessed ever since.
  2. I wonder how many people have tried this method
  3. Thank god I at least have one because if the movie does well its probably never going to happen.
  4. Sometimes you can find reasonable prices on books but most of the time they are 3 to 4 times over priced. Its out of MCS control as consignors set their own prices. The one good thing going for them is strict grading.
  5. I have always wondered about mile high and never knew it was that bad. Thanks for the info. Probably better to just avoid them all together.
  6. I have seen this effect on marvel books from 72-79 Some books with snow white pages have it as well. It seems to be accompanied by color bleed in many instances, I have a WWBN 33 that has this effect to some degree. Anyone know whats causing this and if it will get worse over time even if stored correctly?
  7. I agree that comics would fall under art, but at the same time they are reproductions of the OA. Technically you are displaying some form of a scan.
  8. After doing some research I can see why people like gpa. I did not know there where charts and all kinds of other info thats manageable. I can see how people who buy and sell many slabs can benefit from it.
  9. Thats my point. Since the comic market these days is so volatile why not just use gocollect? they provide averages over 24 months from eBay. Some books as far back as 2011. Heritage has results from the past decade or longer. Why pay over $10 a month for an estimate price range?
  10. I don't have GPA but could someone explain the need for it in the first place? between go collect and heritage archive what is the benefit of using something like GPA?
  11. Probably won't be in the movie but might make a post credit appearance. At some point he will be part of the franchise, that is if the movie is well received and gets a sequel.
  12. Hopefully one day I can get a perfectly wrap 9.8 But with Venomverse coming in September and the venom movie hype, Symbiote madness is at an all time high these days. Im not sure it will calm down anytime soon. I picked mine up 6 to 7 years ago and back then I was hesitant to pay 45$ for my 9.6 because raw copies at the time sold between 20 and 30 dollars. This post MCU world were living in is crazy. Beautiful books BTW.
  13. My second ever CGC book. How the years have gone by. Have always wanted one with a perfect wrap but with current prices these days its probably never gonna happen
  14. Currently reading Y: The Last Man. 9 issues in and completely hooked. Cant believe I never read this series. Great art, fantastic story telling and most importantly compelling characters. After reading this series I am curious about Saga.
  15. For the most part ads back then were coupons for toys or services. There were also bigger companies like General mills who ran ads though.
  16. For slabs you can use go collect, they have sales in all grades and include BIN and auction listings from eBay. Its a fast simply way to see what comics have sold for over the last 24 months or so.
  17. Because of the amount of moderns getting signed these days.
  18. I recently went to world of coke in Atlanta and it dawned on me. They advertised to virtually every audience. Yet there are no coke ads in pre 90s comics. Never noticed it in the past but now I am curious as to why?
  19. Some beautiful books in this thread. The more I see and read the more love I have for these two.
  20. This might sound odd but it occurred to me recently that there seems to be zero coca-cola ads in Marvel/DC comics. Not sure about moderns but from the 40s to the 80s I cannot find a single example of a coke advertisement in any Marvel/DC comic. Does anyone know the reason for this? If there are ads for coke could someone provide an example of an issue with them. I just find it odd because Coca-Cola has always been aggressive with their advertising. Any insight on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
  21. Stopped collecting in 2009 because of financial issues but stared back up with this bad boy in 2014. It was also the book that got me into collecting moderns.
