  1. It doesn't exactly line up with the numbering, but I always regarded mid-grades as comics that fall between 1/3 and 2/3 copies.
  2. As to TheResurrection's point I happen to agree (although there shouldn't be any rational difference between selling to someone who will keep vs one who wants to flip), and I'd have priced my recent thread a bit lower if I knew books were going into collectors' boxes, but I ain't gonna be no sucka, so priced them a bit closer to market. Thing is, things in life can change on a dime, and I wouldn't have a problem with someone who told me they were a 'keeper-collector' needing to sell a month later because a disaster hit. It's the intent at the time of purchase - but geez I'm not going to complicate the first post (rulz) with all that krap.

  4. When your shoe-shine boy gives you a great tip on comics you should buy that's when you know it's time to get out of the market. At least that's how Joe Kennedy says he avoided the stock market crash of '29.
  5. Actually, both work. Certainly there is fruit here too.
  6. There's a dedicated thread for complaining about ebay duds, and to inform the board about them. Any experienced Buyer should already know they must always send Seller a question to ask about combined shipping if terms not expressly described in listing - murphy's law states any time you don't ask Seller first, Seller will charge the maximum possible amount, e.g. Seller will stack the $4 shipping on 5 books for total + $20 shipping.
  7. Congrats, sounds like you sold a book that could receive a 7.5, and then after the buyer sent it in and got it pressed, he got the 7.5. Boo-ya!
  8. So, nothing 'elite.' And all of them spaced out nicely at half-million dollar increments. What does pence bring these days, 80%+ of US version? And yes, that middle line was obviously silly.
  9. 9.4 if that bottom corner front/back is found to be bindery or at least common for that issue. Might drop to 8.5 otherwise, not sure if could get 9.0 with the micro tears if they're wear.
  10. Thanks a lot, Sam, for a great transaction. Sam was clear, pleasant, and a pleasure to deal with. Paid fast and replied to PM to confirm he got the books. Made it all very easy. Would love to transact again soon if it comes up.
  11. Those JIMs were big gets, congrats. Are you going for GRRs for ASM 1, JIM 83 and FF 1, or the real things only?
  12. Wow, from Jan Pym to Rita Hayworth. Is it time for that very popular Farah Fawcett Majors swimsuit poster ?
  13. Death of Gwen Stacy and then Goblin are easy ones. Avengers 93 still holds a place of appreciation although it's stature has slipped a lot since olden times. Hulk vs hero, like Thor and Thing still attract attention (FF 12, 26, 112, Thor 112). Some artist firsts still have a good demand and remained popular, like DD 158 and to a lesser degree X-Men 56 or 107. Edit: forgot copper, maybe ASM 301 qualifies?
  14. Imo, counterfeit date stamps would be hard to detect for certain. I assume they're legit, because, why?
  15. Its not disingenuous self-promotion. Im not promoting myself and because I presented a pretty mild question that people decided to debate about doesn't make it disingenuous. But thank you for how you ended the reply. You softened me up man. Please forgive me for the crack, my skepticism led me to read the click-bait line "did I do something wrong?" as attention seeking and not genuine. Sorry for the err.
  16. An inside joke for guys like you. I try to be careful not to inject too much personality on ebay (an extreme case, but look at how far samco has gone off the rails with that). ; )
  17. Or this one - note reads: "Small piece out of 13th page affects, slightly affects story."
  18. I was joking. I had #1 of his book for sale over the w/e, grew up with him. But since he's "unknown" . . . I know, lame.
