  1. You keep writing sentences like ya been doing in this thread and I'll start to reconsider the notion that you're actually just an automated takebot with very sophisticated tastes.
  2. You crack the code to what drives the herd-mind, aka 'mania,' and you'd do very well picking momentum stocks.
  3. I have a short stack to read, including a Jumbo, some Planets, coupla Wings, Rangers, and I think two Jungles, and looking for a Fight. Haven't read much of them but it's a ways down yet on the list. Much like w/chicks, would've been nice if there was a bit of good content beneath the pretty GGA covers.
  4. Agreed, they do indeed look nice, Andy, thanks again. Weren't on my active list, but I have 20 of 36 book run from #15-50, and with this batch of 10 I'm down to a handful (well, if you're a 6-fingered man anyway).

  6. take the real reason I'm here. damn that white line though . . .
  7. My idiosyncratic pet peeve is that white line along the spine miswrap. Take it anyway please, time to check this one off the list, think I have a low grade filler.
  8. take please Just sold my set of 1-10 recently, but haven't had one of these in a long time, even as filler it will go nicely with recent 6.5 Savage Tales #1 clink purchase.

  10. Seventh. Love the colour. Troublemaker. Hahahaha. Cal-lite was snippy, no?
  11. Because I are an idiot. The last two shows I friggin realized I missed the show two weeks after it was over - "smart phones" my butt, hah! Never missed shows 20 years ago when I used a calendar. But I got the postcard taped up - Jan 13, May 12 and Oct 13, thanks for kind words bud. But I did end up making it back to that show before it closed that afternoon. !
  12. what? thanks to AdamP I had to turn on the White album for the happiness of a warm gun.
  13. Love your books, though golden age hero books are little outta my league, but I love even more your suggestion in the MOVIE/TV forum that best way to enjoy DC-verse movies so far (or the only way in my case, except WW) is to play loud rock music with the movie on mute. : ) you rock! Tested it out on BvS last night on hbo and was able to make it through whole movie first time since my original viewing. Can't wait to try a couple of the others.
  14. No big surprise there, bob. Local small show = local dealers.
  15. Same here in San Antonio - last year went to two of the 'big' cons and found fewer comic dealers at each than I found at a smaller show "Eckman's" that has a few shows a year and only charges $5-7 for entry. Don't know anything about the cost of dealers tables at these events.
  16. Using a mailer (which I think you hate), shipped 3 comics (under 1 lb) for $20.50 to UK. Removed two of the backing boards though, and included a layer of bubble wrap around books.
  17. ^ Yup, I practically don't do cons any more for the exact reasons, but probably no way of turning back the clock on this one. I'm running restaurants these days and pay attention to that industry in particular, and chains like Olive Garden/Applebees see their business dying off - possibly because millennials have different habits. I don't know, but it seems cosplay is here to stay, run collectors and box divers are a dying breed, and the current con situation, pretty awful for comic collectors, is the organizers way of reinventing their product to stay in business.
  18. +1 Little work: sell to dealer for cents on the dollar More work: cherry picks keys and high grades and send in for grading or to MCS, sell the rest in volume for half-cents on the dollar, or runs for a bit to a lot more (like dime-fitty sense on dollar). Most work: sell most desirable on here or ebay etc. Then list dollar books until they run out (probably around 2030).
  19. Doctor Strange $179 CGC 9.2 $100 $80 Ah, what the heck, so what if it's a reprint. take please
