  1. I am curious as to what they will go for . . . I cannot even imagine.
  2. Megan Levens will be our fourth guest. That said, as of this moment the show is still planned for a go. We are monitoring the situation and hoping that all of this will be at a place where we can still have the show. That said, we have comic vendors coming in from six states and several toy vendors as well. Really excited for another great show. OHHHHH and did I mention that admission is still free!!!!!!!
  3. Kind of bummed you and Monster Lair won't be able to make it.
  4. I know the @D Stuart and myself have some great new books we are bringing and Monster Lair has some great stuff as well.
  5. I will be set up at booth #2216 - Middle School Geek @D Stuart will be on the other side of me at booth #2117 - CoMo Comics @mysterio I believe will be set up with his brother at booth #1774 - Monster Lair Comics I am looking forward to the show and stop on by and say hi. If anything we can at least direct you a nice BBQ joint after the show!!!!
  6. My C2E2 Haul Captain America by Michael Cho $150 - Was my main focus and glad I got it. Captain America by Mike Perkins $100 - I arranged this before the show and he never disappoints!!! Powerman and Iron Fist page by Sanford Greene $240, which was marked down from $320 - I thought of getting a commission but splurged a little and got this page. I picked up some books for holes, but got a nice copy of Thirty Second over Tokyo for a great price, which I was very happy with. I have included a couple pics I also had to pick up this comic of Monkey in a Wagon vs Lemur on a Big Wheel for $1 Here is a review that I wrote for another group: This was my third year in a row attending and for the most part not a whole lot has changed as far as the whole process and where stuff is located etc. That said, I will say there were some noticeable differences. The first of these, that was pointed out to me by an artist, was that the artist alley is smaller as the aisles are narrower and there are fewer spaces. Artist alley is still huge and the main reason I go, but it was really cramped. Myself and the artist had determined that the loss of space was turned into new vendor spots. Another noticeable difference was that there was an absence of several comic dealers who I had seen in the past, that were not present. Bedrock Comics and some other noticeable faces were not there. The biggest lack of presence was that Comics4less did not set up with their large island. I ran into Pete, the owner of Comics4less, and he told me he was not doing shows anymore. This seemed to put some comics vendors in different spots than they were normally located. I would say that there were two or three newer comic vendors I had not seen before, but it felt as though there was a lower number of comic vendors than in past years. There was no shortage in finding any number of key books you were looking for. Some of the prices were at FMV, while some made me roll my eyes. I felt as though Harley Yee had the better selection of golden age books for my interest, while the Reeces, Dale Roberts, and Super World had nice golden and silvera age books as well. There were also plenty of $1 and $2 boxes to dig through as well. One thing that I did notice was that Comicsketchart.com and Essential Sequential seemed to have merged and are representing a whole bunch of creators now. Many of them would sign one item for free and then charge you for rest, while some like David Finch had no free signatures. With some of the creators I just waited till they were signing at the Marvel and DC booth and then got my comics all signed for free. It seemed as though fewer and fewer creators were signing for free overall. I am also always amazed at the level of talent in the room, by those who were “not in the business” as they clearly have some talent! Last, and some may not care about this, but C2E2 had a really nice tie in with the AEW event that was happening at the Wintrust arena a block away. Jud was able to score tickets for us to attend the event and a lot of C2E2 folks were there as well. They also had several of the wrestlers signing and doing meet and greets with fans at C2E2. The last wrestling event I went to had Koko B. Ware and had to of been 30 years ago. Nonetheless, it only added to a great weekend of fandom. Overall, I plan on coming back next year as this is a great show to meet creators and shop the folks that come in from the East Coast as this is about as far west as they will come outside of San Diego. This has a lot of family based activities and other things to do besides shopping. I hope to bring the rest of the family next year, but also know that this may be a little pricey for some.
  7. Hope you can make it as well. Right now we got comic vendors from about five neighboring states.
  8. I am going to try and see how this goes. I have been every year the past four years so I know where to run!!!
  9. So I was thinking of dropping two books for onsite grading, a Hulk 181 and ASM 129, but also want to make sure I get on Michael Cho's commission list. Any advice on what those cut off times are on Friday about? Any other advice would be appreciated, as I have never done onsite before.
  10. Radiolab - Lots of interesting topics - sometimes hit and miss.
  11. Yeah I have done it several times. Gives me sometime to really just tune out and get catch up on my podcast and listen to music.
  12. Awesome. I am driving up from KC and was able to get my AirBnB hovel in Chinatown for about $170 from Thursday to Monday. Plus my pro badge just got here and I am set.
  13. The reasons I enjoy going to this show each year as a fan is there are tons of great artist and creators there and I can always pick up something, I get to shop some of the dealers based primarily on the East Coast and see what kind of golden age stuff they got, and I love staying in Chinatown and gaining about 5 pounds from all the good food!!!
  14. Here are our first two guest announcements and have a couple more forthcoming. Right now looking at about 35 tables of comics with some toy dealers and a few crafters and other local artist. Here is the Facebook event link as well: https://www.facebook.com/events/1505607136268761/
