PGM New Mutants 87-1st Cable
B2D327 replied to wymanmanderly3's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
9.0 as it sits; spine tics and the stain on lower left corner on the bc look improvable with a clean/press for a bump to 9.4 -
GRADE IS IN : SHE-Hulk #1- What do you all think?
B2D327 replied to Snowdon's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Good job getting the ink spot removed. Thought a cpr might get it to 8.5 but still a nice book -
GRADE IS IN ! : O Punisher Limited Series #1
B2D327 replied to Snowdon's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
If I’d never seen a “gift grade” before, this would make a believer out of me. I was in the 9.0 crowd on this one too -
9.2/9.4 spine looks improvable

Used to be a way to protect the buyer if they didn’t trust the sale outside of eBay or the seller’s accepted form of payment. I’ve done a few transactions for things I had listed on facebook but the buyer felt more comfortable if I set up the sale on eBay because of the rampant scamming on fb

Reminded me of the Baron Karza and Andromeda figures from the Micronauts line I had as a kid and still have in my collection today -

I guess if you could choose where to have a tape pull on the front cover, that’s not too bad being where it is

Really wanted this one as a kid. Starlin’s stuff used to blow me away

Back in the late 70s, I had a poster of Thor I believe was painted by Joe Jusko hanging on my wall from a set that was advertised on the inner back covers of the comics on the stand at the time. I can’t find a pic of it anywhere and I’m too lazy to dig through any books to find it. What I do recall though is how the moisture that used to accumulate on the walls from condensation wrinkled it up and wouldn’t allow the tape to hold it up for too long. Ended up throwing it away when it got moldy not long after.

I pick up multiple copies of certain books when I can attain them at a good price/deal and trade or sell the undercopies for other books. I’d made a decent profit on multiples of X-men #10 {1sr Ka-Zar), Star Trek #1 GK, and Strange Tales 169 (1st Brother VooDoo) among others here on the boards bst section. So far, the only book I’ve sought out multiples for to keep in my pc is Conan 96 because I fell in love with the cover and wanted to accrue any existing variants (ie: price, multiple cover errors, mark jeweler, etc), so much that I still have an ad in the wtb section should any pop up outside of the other resources I use for books

I think when it happens to books that nice, it hurts the most

Anyone else get this email recently? What are your thoughts? Personally, I don’t like the idea of having them come out to see me in person, invading my space and having some stranger all up in my business. The confrontational side of me however, wants to relish in embarrassing someone for the same reasons. I’m torn.

Don’t mind me; I’m just being cheeky

Wow. That cover brings back so many memories from my hs days, visiting the lcs when the whole b/w indie craze was starting

I felt the same way until I saw this Russ Heath cover here on the boards and had to have it. Now I look for similar stuff regularly
