Yea ? your point? They are losing readers non stop with the reboots so i would say that their short term sales spikes are going to hurt them or should I say the print side of comics. Also as Larry stated how many times are they going to get retailers to buy into the next big thing only to get burned over and over again... just an opinion ! My point is that they don't care how many number 1 issues they put out because they are selling, Marvel will never say "Oh, we need to cut back on this print run for the benefit of the collectors who seal it in a plastic bag, never to be looked at until 50 years from now. Answer is simple, they will get retailers to buy into the next big thing as long as they keep buying!! It's called Marketing! How many times are the grocery stores going to keep raising thier food prices??? As much as they can until you decide to starve to death! Comics are no different than anything else being marketed in this world.

Marvel is in the comics selling business, not the back issue market business.

Prices tend to fall online when it's convention season then go back up in the winter months. I've already seen ASM 300 hit 1000, but it's not the norm yet.

Yeah, 99% bidding activity with the seller smells funny to me but hey, it's your $12 so feel free to buy them at that price all day long. Especially since other copies of this elusive book have sold for less than $2. There's nothing you can do about it if it is...If you've noticed, all the 80's junk #1's are moving up in price. Prices today are all over the map, one day it's a $50 book, next day it's a $75 dollar book, it's an auction after all and it goes to the highest bidder. I sent an email to a bidder one time over a DRK 1 I got out bid on at the last second over 10 years ago he said "I wanted it really bad" That is your answer really about why stuff suddenly sells for more than the "norm" One sale of a $11-$12 doesn't dictate that's what the going price is going to be from now on.

I wonder if CGC will ever come out with a different color label just for pedigrees, So if a you see a red label you can say "ah, it's a pedigree!" as well as the notation. Just an idea since they have a yellow one just for signed books.
