  1. I found a super nice copy at a local show, Dealer had a price of VF/NM for $65, I asked him if he'd take $50 and he took it, It has a printer's crease (non color breaking) and a few small non color breaking spine creases, picked this up for Comicartfan, I think it's 9.6 - 9.8 with a press.
  2. Wow no one responded to my prediction, guess no one believes me?
  3. the winning bidder has used 5% of his bids on the sellers' items, while the under bidder has used 19% of his bids. possible shilling, though it seems likely at least that the winning bidder was real. i was involved in a similar auction (i stopped at $66) that ended at about $120, but that one seemed like more blatant shilling. Not really, can't just say "That's shilling" when you see a high price on something that's out of the norm. Lot of low feedback bidders are still learning how ebay works, if they get outbid, they will keep trying till the are winning the auction, so it can be confused with shilling. Have to remember Winter Solder is super hot right now, $66 is far too low to even bother trying to win that, that's only $33 each. The books will cool off once the movie leaves the theater but right now, everyone and thier sister wants those books.
  4. I'm going to predict Superman Adventures #5 and Action Comics 835, 1st Livewire
  5. Cap v5 #14 still sells for higher than #6, right? Here is the last copy I sold: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251455255763?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1561.l2649#ht_216wt_1105 It only hit $41 which was a bit disappointing IMHO........ Your eBay AD needs work...seriously. Which is why it didn't do as well as you would have liked.
  6. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hellblazer-1-CGC-9-8-NM-M-1st-Appearance-of-Papa-Midnite-/331162975966?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item4d1ad9fede yesterdays news
  7. Anyone see the ASM 607 9.8 that just sold for $240?
  8. He's generalizing. The numbers ARE down, but there are still readers. In fact, there's probably been a slight upswing in readers with all the movie and TV exposure. There's a core of female readers that I don't think existed ten years ago. This being the CGC forum, though, there's probably some skew towards graded book collectors. He's not talking about modern sales or comic readers in general. He's talking about people who don't seem to have a clue about the interior content of comics they're buying, especially in slabs. I used to care about the content inside, now I just collect money
  9. The problem is that people don't read comics anymore, and they just look at what's on the CGC label. And on that note, what is on the CGC label? The major point I would concentrate on is the first cover appearance, combined with the first full appearance in 362. People like covers, as they look kewl in their plastic tombs. How do you know people don't read comics anymore? i know i don't
  10. Doesn't matter the print run really, Still is not enough NM+ copies to go around for people who want them, Look at ASM 300, It just sells and sells, no matter how many are out there. Besides, even with a good size print run, not every single copy is NM/MT.
  11. It's at $51 and 42 watchers!!! Crazy!! I need 1.21 gigawatts to fuel my flux capacitor!!!!
  12. They sell them at the local show here for $1-$2 cause the dealer doesn't have a clue
  13. I've tried 4 times already to get a 9.8 of that book and no go
  14. The forumla is real simple...If the book sells raw for more than $10 on average, it's worth slabbing.
  15. Except it doesn't have to be a previously known or introduced character. See MoS 17. See X-Factor 5. And on and on and on. You're confusing CGC label notes with reality. Cameos? 1st App? Which Is which? who cares as long as people overpay what I'm selling
  16. Feel free to add you own insights, not just comment on what others have posted. No, I keep all my finds a secret Good idea, then I can't raid the comic shop you go to. These boards aren't the best place to keep track of what's selling and what's not.

  18. A lot of the books that people have been mentioning here have been hot for a while now.
  19. Keep an eye on Superman Adventures #5 1st appearance of Livewire. She already is part of the DC Continuity and made her debut in Action Comics 835 There, I let out one of my secrets....happy?
