  1. haha +1 He's just another assassin in an ugly costume.
  2. Booster Gold 1 is big bucks, I've seen them sell in 9.8 for $250 It's all movie hype Same with MP #47–#48 that book wasn't worth more than a few $ before they announced Scott Lang is in the Ant Man film Ok then, You don't need to make a 100 threads asking "Why is this book going for this amount"? any more. Now you know and knowing is half the battle.
  3. Dude, if you read more and posted less, you save us all a lot of typing . . . Sorry I don't sit on the net all day looking for the next movie announcement So I can go run and buy the book before it skyrockets. I don't watch Arrow, so I had no clue he was on there and I don't keep up on new movies so I had no clue a movie was being made. If this had been a sales thread you wouldn't be b-i-t-c-h-i-n-g like you are now NTT #2 has been hot for over three years. If an old dude like me is aware of that, then you are just not doing the work. Why should he bother, someone on the boards will just tell him

  5. I'm well aware 1st apps drive value on some books Not the case for a lot of books Whats so special about NT #2 I didn't know deathstoke was such a big name in comics I should have known TV or movie app was driving the price TV and Movie appearances is what's driving all this.
  6. Because 1st appearances of characters tend to sky rocket in 9.8 condition. How long have you been collecting comics?
  7. wow that is nice Her face is looking very masculine
  8. I've noticed that too. The dark cover makes it hard in 9.8 but there are quite a few around. Quite a few around is a massive understatement. When this came out everybody I knew bought multiple copies, and we were just dumb kids; I'm sure actual dealers and speculators bought far more copies. It kinda boggles me that stuff from this period is worth anything given there aren't just a ton of copies around, but most of them are in high grade as well. Doesn't matter how many are out there, people want them.
  9. I don't use photoshop at all, I use a mac and right click the image and adjust the contract to darken it, bring up the sharpness and add a little brightness to it. If anyone wants a color adjustment, just PM me your scans. it takes me 3 seconds to do it.
  10. If money weren't an object i'd still get an HP 8300. When it came out a few years back it was a $500 MSRP scanner. Now you probably pay more for shipping than the scanner itself. I scanned a negative with it as well and the result was f-ing amazing in my opinion. I'll post some sample scans and settings in a bit. Thanks. To contribute to the thread, here is Staples' Xerox machine, charging sometimes $2 an image, sometimes $2 for the first only and pennies for subsequent images: Maybe I should start charging for color adjustments
  11. It's not free, but worth it. VueScan solved the problem for me. Thanks for the heads up. I picked it up and it works. Now I just have to get used to using it. Getting all my settings right. Looks much more washed out than my HP Scan did. This one came out good ~
  12. $550 for the NM Annual 2 should be enough dough to buy a scanner with
  13. Unlikely. Being an error of some kind is more likely. I just wish there were more examples of different books having this same error. In the history of marvel, this scenario should have happened a few more times than just these two books. That's just my feeling on the matter. The difference with these books is that somebody probably took them from the printer's building and held on to them. In almost every other instance, these books would never have left the printing building, but would have been destroyed. These books are probably examples that "fell off the truck", and were taken by an dishonest employee. Due to the many copies of xmen classic that are out in the wild, I have a hard time putting this book in the same category as the 302. My quest for the truth continues.
  14. Are you on a Mac? Are you using a HP 8250 scanner?
  15. I got my scanner off of ebay. It didn't come with any of the software at all. I had to download it from the HP site. I have a mac so the installation required a few more steps to get it to work with the current OS but all the other downloads seemed pretty straight forward. Got mine off of Amazon used for like $120 (Not paying $800 brand new) I had to buy the power cable and USB cable as well. Then just downloaded the driver. I work in printing so I know how to color ~
  16. I bought my scanner off of amazon used and then just went to the HP website and downloaded the latest driver. I'm using an IMac. All I do, I click on a picture and at the top of my desktop it switches to "HP Scan" I click "Tools" Click "Adjust color" from the drop down menu and use the sliders back and forth, most of the time, I only use "Contract slide to the right and Sharpness slid to the right.
  17. This better? Just gonna have to live with a little glare.
  18. WW I adjusted the color on the ASM 5 for you!
  19. The book in hand is very bright in itself, you don't want to pump the color up so much it doesn't look real. Just bring the black up enough that all the areas are black and add some brightness to it if it's too dark. Careful you don't lose the color blue on the label, I usually keep an eye on that. Bring up the sharpness so you can actually read the writing and it'll bring out the details in the art.
  20. The ASM 5 and Dr Strange are too dark, it's crushing the blacks. Turn down the blacks a bit, turn up the yellow and brightness and add a little red. Add red to the FF48. Turn up the sharpness on all the images.
  21. Before color - Notice how terrible the blacks look? After color adjustment - black added with the contrast up, Sharpness almost all the way up, Brightness turned down a little.
  22. How do you raise the black level once the image is scanned/saved? I do all of the adjustments before I scan the image via "Preview". Generally I use 300 DPI, Brightness 60, Contrast 70 But it still isn't as sharp as other people's scans I see and can never figure out the black levels/contrast? After the scan is saved on my desktop, I click on "Adjust Color" in the tool bar and adjust it that way. I'll post before and after scans When it's saved on your desktop though, what program do you use to "Adjust Color"? HP Scan is at the top of my screen, I just click on "Tools and the Adjust Color"
