  1. Yea, she might leave you cause you had that many comic boxes in one room.
  2. JIM 104 is cool too, as is JIM 112.
  3. This is pretty sad, you can't expect everyone to hold thier end of the bargin cause they got your hopes up since you were looking to move a few books...there is no contract here like there is on eBay. Just a "virtual handshake" God forbid anyone changes thier mind...Walmart doesn't put you on probation from the store cause you didn't pick up what you had on hold at the layaway counter.
  4. Never was or will be, an Adam Hughes fan. But to each thier own.
  5. All I suggested was you make ur CAF more orginzed,Like make a "Sold/Traded Section" and I get harassed for that...geez.
  6. I'm sure it'll be on your CAF with "Taking Offers" real soon, since everything else is,what makes this one differant from the rest? btw, take down all the sold stuff since you don't own it anymore.
  7. that's gman for you...every commision he gets is for sale..even the convention sketches.
  8. Very Nice Steve, ANY of these plates are worth buying and having.
  9. It's like Rock, Paper, Scissor to me.. Pencils cover paper, and Ink covers pencils... I have seen artists who look completely different in the hands of different inkers too. Jim Lee comes to mind...his Scott Williams inked pieces jump out at you the way his self inked or other inker inked pieces don't. Chris Simply cause Scott Williams is the better inker,Jim Lee doesn't really ink his own stuff and he said in an interview that if he inks his own stuff,he gets bored and that he's no the best inker, but said he's passible.
  10. I like Finch when he was doing Aphrodite IX,for some reason it's the only chick book I liked.
  11. This came in yesterday's mail.I'd like to thank Chris Caira for selling me this amazing cover
  12. Thanx for the advice...i'll be sure to keep this list in mind
  13. If you like to buy slabbed books for profit (IMO I call that investing not collecting) then that is fine. You are having fun doing that. Not to affend anyone (please don't take this personally), but I don't consider comic shop owners "collectors". They may be collectors on their own time but in the shop, they are running a business. Business is about profit. I don't think I could ever sell any of my books. I am sorry you feel like you have to mock me because of that. im not mocking you,i'm justing saying that what you are saying is a bit old don't you think? This "buy what you like and not for investment" type of advice is quite clitche'. don't you think? Does that mean that comic books have become a business for everyone instead of a hobby? I want to believe that is not true. I still have fun buying comic books and I am 29 years old. If that is cliche' then so be it. Gary I love comics too,I'm a collector not a dealer. But i've always been drawn to the fact of how much these books go for.It is exciting to lay down 1K,2K 5K even 10K+ for a comic.

  15. Ever since I started collecting comics,I have heard this kind of story over and over again...buy what you like and not for the investment and Well,I like CGC slabbed scarce silver age in NM,I think Metropolis Comics has something like this on thier website...so why are they selling them for profit it,if they say collect to read and not for investment?
  16. I still think resubmitting a book is pretty ballsy,I can see trying to get away with it if it's bronze or modern,But if you have a 9.2 X-men 1 that you swear up and down that it's a 9.4 and your thinking about resubmiting it then...that for me would be a few sleepless days until it came back..nights for most people...
  17. i read your about me page,I do own a copy of ASM 14 in 9.4,but the averge person and johnny doesn't have the cash to shell out that kind of dough for thier copy, and the only reson the want it is because the green goblin is in the movie.Spidey 2 will have another villian and that villian's 1st app. will be sought after and so on and so on.I think it's great that they are finally making these movies of comics, about time we get to see these heroes and villains in a 3D world. But as far as comics and movies mixed, well there is nothing you can do about it.But yes,it does motavate people to buy comics cause the movie is out,it helps the industry...would you like another dead industry? conventions are ghost towns like it used to be? is that how you want it? A dead industry is a boring industry.I left comics for a while till about 2 years ago.mid 90's sucked for comics.Maybe you liked it cause everything was cheap. But i don't think you should call someone an insufficiently_thoughtful_person because they liked the movie and went out and bought some comics. Kevin
  18. Gee, if this stupid book i sold 6 months ago for 1100 now is selling over 2K,then that must mean my ASM 14 9.4 should sell for 20K then?
