  1. Well, to be fair, if you bought half the stock and CGC'd them all, then a majority of them will be slabbed making the unslabbed the rarity.
  2. Dont forget that they claimed damages so those on the pictures could easily just the ones Marvel probably ordered destroyed to get the replacements. They also only sold 400 of the 600 (which they stated only once on the cbsi post). You'll notice all the serial numbers are above 200 that have been sold. They also promised sealed, stickered numbered copies which they didn't do. I can promise you though #3 exclusive will sell well though because they are going go pump it to high heaven on the website.
  3. Miles has a bigger fanbase and a lot more established story arcs. Gwen currently has no active comic run. If/when the Gwen movie comes out, she will blow up again.
  4. I used to think people investing in stuff like this was dumb, but then I realized people are pouring billions of dollars into companies that have never shown a profit in their entire existence. It's all about brand awareness.
  5. Maybe to CGC, but UPS and FedEx are notoriously worse for me overall. I feel like most packages get transferred to USPS for the last mile which adds 2-3 days for delivery. Would rather just use the USPS.
  6. The only show she has a chance to show up on is Andor currently. Her place in the timeline makes it extremely unlikely to see her other than perhaps a secret cameo for a long time. I'd say sell.
  7. Apparently the guy bought half the stock. So 25 copies.
  8. The fact that the person is guaranteeing 9.8s is suspect. The listing to slab it never promised a grade.
  9. Not too surprising. Everyone who was late to the game on the 1st printing is now trying to cash in and pump up the 2nd printing. Not to mention it's an easy flip on ebay right now. It'll be hot for a bit, but it'll settle eventually once the initial HR hype wears off. My guess is around $15 with the A/B variants of the 1st print. I think the Hans will be the go to cover followed by this one.
  10. No, it was flat at the beginning of 2020. I think what really pushed it over to the ridiculous territory is the 3rd print "rarity" BS that the pumpers were pushing. (Ignoring the fact the 4th print had zero or near zero recorded sales in 6 years on Ebay.) Earlier today I'm seeing people on Facebook trying to get $1500 for a 1st print 9.8. The book is about a decendent of Luke Skywalker who's a bad boy Skywalker. Theres a few Darths in it that if i recall he kills. That's it. That's the spec. Disney basically killed any chance this timeline might see the light of day with 7-9. Sure Disney could re-timeline the Darths, but why? The comic was a decent, but not great seller. Meanwhile Prince Xizor from the Shadows of the Empire book had a freaking video game with full on dedicated toy line, trading cards and 2 comic series' and it's a $30 comic.
  11. Granted the same could be said about reading the comics. *cough* ridiculous Legacy #1 spec *cough*
  12. I'm not holding my breath, but I'd love to see some cameos. They really need John Jackson Miller to be penning some more KOTOR stories. My theory is Disney wants to do something to tell the Mandalorian Wars story and they'll use KOTOR to tell part of it. With how popular and how much Filoni has integrated the Mandalorians into Star Wars, it seems like a no brainer. Edit: Okay, crazy theory here. JJM just announced he finished a new book this evening. He also announced the 15th anniversary of the KOTOR series with a new omnibus, and just did a KOTOR AMA a week ago. He's already written a book for Filoni's universe. So maybe we're getting another canon JJM Star Wars book? Hopefully in The Old Republic era? (AMA confirms he has nothing to do with High Republic.)
  13. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/star-wars-kotor-remake-rumored-204231636.html Key issues would be 9, 31, 42, 14, and 22. Though if Disney retcons or vastly changes Revans origins, 42 might become worthless. So that's a tricky issue to decide if it's worth spending the money on. Edit: Also Tales 23 and 24.
  14. It's really not hard to change this into a business. If you buy a $1000 in comics a year, that's $1000 you can potentially write off. If you sell $1500, then you're only liable for $500. And of that $500 you can probably write off a chunk of it for various expenses. (You can write off mileage just going back and forth to the post office and comic shop potentially at about 55 cents a mile for instance.) It's annoying, but it can keep the tax man at bay.
  15. Yup. Set: 75310 - {? The Mandalore Throne And Vault ?} Includes 147 pieces Minifigures: Ahsoka Tano, Darth Maul
  16. They've done a couple in the past, but I don't think they're that common. I think Image is banking on this series heavily to complete with Marvel and DC's superhero universes, so they're pulling out all the stops.
  17. I think this series is going to be fire. The previews of it and the endorsements are all pretty solid. It does have the downfall of it being not a sleeper hit, but at 70,000 copies, there's going to be a lot of people buying in and pumping this up for their own gain. There's a handful of other exclusive variants besides the ones in that newsletter, but I think the 50/100 limiteds are going to be ones to get. People are already trying to sell them for $1500. (Which is nuts.)
  18. Can't comment on the HA auction, but I'd not trust the seller of that Ebay auction.
  19. First cover app, but they dont appear in the issue. First confirmed in the story is HR:A #1 I believe. Storyline of HR #2 seems to imply they'll be involved in that issue though. Both release the same day. Markets will decide if that HR #1 variant counts. My personal guess is no since it's concept art and not story art, but .
  20. Not too unreasonable. Contains 1st app of characters on the cover, plus it's a decent cover with good colors. I can see that one sustaining $200 for a while after launch. The covers for Keeve for issue 1 were all pretty subpar, so it'll be nice to have something of quality for the character.
  21. Okay lemme clarify something because I used a poor choice of words which is where I think this misunderstanding is coming from. I should have said royalties, not licensing. Yes. likely Disney does not have to pay licensing, but it wouldn't surprise me if they do pay a royalty for each use of the character. (At least for Pre-disney era). Do I know for sure? No, just making an assumption based on other IP creations. Sorry for the confusion. Anyway, getting back on subject, KOTOR 31 has breached the steady $100+ amount. It was down to about $30 a few months ago. First official Malak (as Malak) and first app of Darth Sion (in ad form). Will be curious to see if that overtakes issue 42.
  22. Sure, Disney owns the character, but it doesn't mean they don't have to pay Zahn some sort of royalties. It all depends on the contracts, and those contracts pre-date Disney by 20 years.
  23. Obviously I don't know the licensing deals these authors have, but I'm sure the agreements over character ownerships has changed drastically in the past 25 years since Heir to the Empire. Zahn was already an established writer, so I suspect he had clout in his bargaining agreements. Though I doubt anyone saw Thrawn's inclusion 20 years later in a cartoon. I'm sure once Disney took over, a lot has changed. Probably any new character is created and vetted before an author even is allowed to use them.
  24. I think it's one thing to do obscure callbacks and whatnot for the fans, but putting in a character with an established backstory is hamstringing for writers. Take Mara Jade for instance (who arguably is my favorite EU character for reference). How do you bring her in without basically gutting her backstory? At this point it's fairly safe to say Luke's story is done, and her story is so intertwined with his. If you try to separate them, it's basically a completely different character. Plus there are royalties and rights for using that character. I think Thrawn was reused because he essentially was a standalone character from arguably the most popular EU story created that rebooted Star Wars. It's much easier to just create something original that you have free reign over. It's also why I doubt Aphra will ever get screen time except maybe a tiny cameo.
