  1. Where was his stuff mostly? Planet Comics? Like to get an original copy of one of his stories. Guys of the hook!
  2. I just wish someone would follow through with all the investment talk so we can see what the results are. I mean what are we a year into this so we’d be a year down with one year to go to see the results. Sigh, all talk....
  3. I liked that guy! He found the AF15 in the cockpit of an old Piper aircraft in a box of old Coke bottles, right? He wasn't as cool as SC22. That guy ruled!
  4. Ok, what's the deal OP? Have you spent the 3k yet for this 2-5 year investment experiment? Lots of threads like this asking advice for "what comic books are best for" short term investment. Nobody ever follows through. Nobody. How are we ever gonna know if this sort of thing works out if nobody ever gets beyond the asking phase of things?
  5. so what's the secret of just letting go? how to laugh about letting great books go cause you were in dire straights (a bad situation as opposed to being a member of the rock band) and needed the cash. How to look forward without regret and not dwell in the past? Thanks in advance
  6. So very, very nice! Congrats! As for me, so long FF #1: I waited too late and my girl has gone to dance w/someone else. If you're out there and you're reading this, please remember me and think of me every once in awhile. I love you, NoMan
  7. I believe there is a book about the history of the Johnson Smith Co. Also the book Mail Order Mysteries is of interest.
  8. She has a out going message on her work phone that says she’s out for medical reasons for an undetermined amount of time. She’s a wonderful person that does important work and I hope she’s ok. When I find out more I’ll pass it along. I believe Ditko had a total of 12 brothers and sisters.

    Sold

Got some bits and pieces of some comic book history and thought I’d bring it here to fill in the unknown bits and/or check on its validity. In the early 80s did some guys want to put out a book called “Sold” that would list actual sales prices of books sold as opposed to suggested selling prices found in the OSPG? Don’t ask me how they would gather the sold data. Anybody know what I’m talking about? Perhaps Ron Pussell was involved. Hopefully someone can set me straight.
  10. Tony Isabella ran a comic shop in Cleveland. He took over writing on Moon Knight (1982) around issue 32 once Doug M. left. His stories suck.
  11. I got some store stamped books from Waco, TX. Old Ghost Rider westerns from the late 60s. I’ll dig em out tomorrow if you’re interested and give you the skinny. Let me know.
  12. i really never heard about "miswraps" tell I came around here. honestly never thought it was a thing. Curious to hear answers from the knowledgable around here.
  13. Never heard of Hollinger before. Thanks for taking the time in posting and bringing him up. Learn something new every 3rd or 4th week around here.
  14. Laughing because you giving out an “F” not about that poor woman being murdered.
  15. Come on, I'm trying. Are you trying to make me feel bad? I'm a grown up with grown up responsibilties. Time is a premium over here. (not enough to waste time here. Double ) But, No is the answer to your question. I'm just now finishing up my Moon Knight (1982) run. That run is really bests with the Bill S./Doug M. issues around 22-27. So what do I read first Byrne FF or Simonson Thor?
  16. thank you! i'm home bound and in need of cheering up. Seriously, I thank you. BTW, dumb question from a non-collector: how do you know it's the same figure from toy to toy?
  17. what no love for the hype-sters ?? It made for entertaining threads when I was really, really bored at work. However, someone here way smarter than me (doesn't really narrow it down, I know. ) said very calmly, "It's not really good for the long term health of the hobby, all this hype-ster activity." Logic kills all the good threads.
  18. Come on experts speak up! I dunno if these prices are good or bad.
  19. missed a lot back in my reading days 79 - 87 as I was hyper focused on Frank Miller's work. Bad move. Missed alot.
