  1. i got an xmen 94 like this. pressed to shizt. flat as a pancake from Ihop. No. Personality. What. So. Ever. "So why did you buy it Tough-Guy you ask." Well I gotta a whole long box of books i bought after a 30 years away. I was uneducated and excitable. Still am though I have learned a thing or two around here for the two years I've been badgering you fine folks here. Overpaid on lots and lots of stuff. But damn are they are some nice books and what do my heirs care that they're selling 'em for the exact amount I paid for 'em. They're gonna be rich and I'm dead.
  2. Hell, Ackerman was prolly enduring listening to that Scientology guy Ron Hubbard and all his mumbo-jumbo that or blowing up scientists in Pasadena, California while trying to conjure up the devil. Anybody ever get the AckerMansion tour? I did. Early 90s I think. His wife had banished him and his collection to the basement. Lots of us can probably relate.
  3. Now Mr. BB - Gun I never said I was man enough to collect GA. I start at SA, but, ok, I'll give this a try anyways. 1944. Planet Comics
  4. Darn it if I didn't see your post on the main page and came here thinking I was gonna get pictures of BB gun ads in Golden Age books and think it was some kinda contest about guess the Golden Age year by the BB gun ad.
  5. What no footage of Forest Ackerman macking on the 12 year old Vampirilla?
  6. I picked up a reading copy for about $2.50. Thanks for taking the time to post that book here. Would never have heard of it if you hadn't. A big Thank You!
  7. Don’t know much behind the scenes of the production of TTA 27. Wish I did.
  8. TTA 27 is the most important Marvel book. Period. If you have one you'll never lose money when you sell it, no matter what you payed for it. There have been studies at all the major universities verifying this.
  9. RMA, You seemed well versed in this whole "paying extra for a CGC'd signature thing" and I'm curious, look into your magic ball: In 10 years what's this whole thing gonna look like? Will the signature junkies be able to throw the needle away and be able to hurt the creators financially and get their point across that way? Will the signature junkies not be able to throw the needle away and things stay the way they are? Maybe a "Yellow Label" rehab/12-step program? The mental obsession must be God-Awful as the junkie makes his way through the convention hall: "Must get Delmotto's signature on all 7,000 variants of Spiderman #800 but that $30.00 punishment fee is wrong and I must take a stand so I'll just get 4,500 of the variants signed and hit a meeting a tell my sponsor how well I'm doing."
  10. I appreciate you sharing your pornography with us. I love, and I mean adore with my heart and soul, Tales To Astonish 27. It is the most important book in human history.
  11. I’m intrigued by Mr. Woo. Would love to know more about his Locken’ & Poppen’ career however a Scooby Doo mystery he’ll remain. You’ll get no low opinion from me of CBCS’ grading of either Mr. Woo’s AF15 or his Silver Surfer you so kindly pointed out above.
  12. sold it at the CBCS leg of the journey? Magik Woo?
  13. I like reading your posts about that AF15 CBCS 8.5 that became a CGC 8.5, Lou. Your information is impeccable making your conclusions even handed and reasoned, a rarity around here. Hats off to you, sir.
  14. I try not to take anything very seriously, however, why not take a long time OSPG advisers thoughts seriously? I would imagine they'd have to be learned and experienced to get to the position of adviser or is that thinking similar to the thinking that politicians must be smart to become public representatives?
  15. Hmmm, sounds like a great new section of the 2019 OSPG: What do you own and like to collect? Would the only prices listed in the guide be those of books the advisers own and collect? Would all the other books just have a blank space where the prices go? Maybe the wording: Nobody owns and collects these books.
  16. I'm curious how one does this. Is it at all conspiratorial to think that certain Market Report authors are hyping what they have and hope to sell similar to the pump & dump that is sometimes perpetuated here? As mentioned by someone here in an earlier OSPG thread, Dr. Steven Kahn (first time adviser to the Guide and his first market report appears in the 2018 edition) has a great read in his Market Report. Anyways, how does a relative newcomer to the hobby differentiate fact from hype in the OSPG Market Reports?
  17. Man, I'm making a poor showing as The World's Greatest Comic-Book Collector.
  18. I feel like all the DTR #1 first printings were made for me. Whenever I see them I scoop them up regardless of condition. When they are with someone else, they are not in the proper place. Their proper place is with me. My goal as I've stated before is to become the world's greatest comic book collector. I will not stop until every DKR #1 is with me.
