  1. Can the government come in and bail collectors out with public tax dollars if we over value a key? I'm down with that! My collection is too important to fail.
  2. I have one without the other ... ... so, yes, it technically is possible.
  3. I know a guy who owns a comic shop in Los Angeles. his shop is really like a boutique of higher end books. He often talks about books of his being sold and ending up in "bank vaults in Japan and Dubai." I have no idea the history or demograph of those overseas buyers. Just that a big part of his sales is for foreign bank vaults.
  4. That is awsome. Book is awsome. Date stamp is awesome.
  5. Anybody know the specifics of the tussel that tore the cover?
  6. Seth is good stuff. Only stuff that carried me through the 90s when I had completely given up on comics. Also Eightball and Chester brown
  7. Ok. Good to know. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
  8. Ok, it's probably my turn for public service, so..... its to open of a question. I need more information. What comics do you like for story and art? i gather from the information given that you're not a flipper. Do you even read comics? Or is it just a long term investment? Define what "a good deal" is for you. Knowing next to nothing about your personals here is my answer: marvel premeirer 47 in the best grade possible. Ant man is a solid character, blah blah blah he's in the movies.
  9. Looking at a book on CC. does the consigner give it a grade and CC goes with it or does CC grade it? thanks in advance
  10. I realize that. I was wondering why the refusal part when clear and plain evidence is presented.
  11. I was wondering the other day how many key comics are destroyed a year for whatever reason. Or if (generally speaking) keys are better positioned to be protected from destruction then non-keys because of special protections like better quality bags and boards, safes, Safe Deposit boxes, etc.
  12. I got watching that with some kids and I enjoyed it. I think they used real model trains in miniature work which was cool. Then the went to computer graphics and then it sucked anyways, talking about falling of the rails..
  13. Re: the guy trying to sell the Wolverine book makes me hate people more than I generally do. However, sounds like you got some great people showing up, too. Seems like you're focusing on that. Great! If I'm up you're way ever I'd stop by in a heartbeat. Upon further thought, I wonder why some believe so firmly (when presented proof otherwise) they are getting so badly ripped off ??
  14. What a crazy fun group of books! Enjoy learning grading and seeing the results once a third party grades 'em. My first batch to CGC was a disaster. Been a long time since I sent another group in. Takes a while to learn grading. At least for me.
  15. or the ink seems to bleed into the page. Is this just the regular degradation of paper used by comic companies over the years? kinda makes the story hard to read at times
  16. I guess I gotta get me a Hulk 181. I got the other big Bronze keys. Just can't seem to get excited about picking one up over some other books. But there is most surely a possum in the pear tree when it comes to IH 181 as Kid Colt Outlaw would say.
