  1. I can't let these books sit here without a home. It's disgraceful! As a kid I was a HUGE Quicksilver fan and I remember my heart skipping a beat when I first saw #185 at the newsstand. I already have these but I need to upgrade therefore a huge is in order.
  2. What if it was Ditko? Only one AF15 he signs: yours. Witnessed by CGC. YELLOW LABLE. How about then? And Miranda Kerr was with him, nude.
  3. No. I love it. Then scored a volume 1 run and volume 2 run from PickyCollector. His books are no joke.
  4. Wow! I actually made a good purchase finally. After 30 years out of the hobby got back in about a year ago. Went to Stan lee 2016 comic con in Los Angeles and bought an 8.0 WP for $800. Maybe I could flip it now for 7 grand or something.
  5. I didn't realize PP was dead until I just goggled Miles whoever.
  6. You paid 1,500 for this copy? Wow! I haven't been paying attention. You're right about great cover/character.
  7. Does the Peru, 0-feedback, no returns worry anyone but me?
  8. I hope it's blue label. Like to see what an 8.5 does these days. Curious if things are leveling out and calming down. I guess a restored 8.5 can reveal a lot too.
  9. If it is restored, it still would not be a new book to slab as restored copies have sat at 17 on census for at least the last year.
  10. I love when collectibles are described as "bullet-proof investments." As if. It's not a new book to a slab as cenus remains 11 for blue label.
  11. Is the coloring today done by computers? It looks horrific and I can't get past that so I just close the book and put it back on the shelve. Story could be epic, but can never get to it because of "look" of art. Seriously, open a book from 70s or 80s and open a book today and compare. The coloring looks, I dunno, done by a computer. Does anyone know what I'm speaking of and csn explain?
  12. What I figured. Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question.
  13. I have no desire to join a Facebook anything, especially not to experience a comic book collecting community. Without joining one, I am curious what makes them so terrible. I trust you that they're probably less then desirable (from what little Facebook nonsense I have experienced) just wonder why that is and am hoping that someone can give me the skinny without going to the trouble to experience it myself first hand. As always, thanks.
  14. Thanks Comicwiz and Mr. Zipper! Great posts!
  15. How does that conversation go exactly?: Potential Buyer: I'll give you 25k for your 5.0 AF15. Potential Seller: No, I think it's worth a bit more. I'll just hold on to it for now. Buyer: It's not worth that. I'm doing you a favor. Seller: No that's ok. Buyer: I'm your only friend. 25k is what it's worth. Everyone knows this except for stupid people. Seller: It's ok. I'm gonna pass. Buyer: Nobody wants that book. There's an AF15 bubble and it's popping. It's not rare, you know. Nobody likes the movies except cos players and they don't have money. I don't even really want it. Seller: I really think I can realize a little money then you're offering. Buyer: You can't. It's only worth 25k. Try to pay attention. I'm telling you the truth. Seroiusly, I'm curious how conversations go when indignant buyers don't get what they want.
  16. Nice job! I actually Googled "Tanning Bed Hulk 22." nothing suprises me much anymore. Things can get so stupid theses days Tanning Bed Hulk sounds reasonable.
  17. I'm Noman and I'm obsessed with comics. Come to think of it I become obsessed with anything I get into.
  18. Was bidding on a book on HA on Sunday. I lost and I was bummed. However, if I had won I probably would have been bummed, too. In reality, it's for the best cause I'm saving up for an OA-related item (Color guides) and money can go to that. anybody else deal with this: you win and have buyer's remorse or you lose and have some kinda remorse that you'll never find the book again/shouldn't have spent the money/paid too much? It's a heavy, heavy burden to carry alone and was thinking we could have some sort of support group here.
  19. I always liked "Swank" magazine when I was a kid. Pictures with clothes on first and then the clothes slowly came off. Kinda had a low-rent motel feel location wise. Anyways, I know nothing about Playboy except I used to know the Sex Advisor columnist. Cool guy. Was a serious Columbia journalist guy. I was in the offices in Chicago once. Don't know why/how he got the gig. back to the funny books..
