It's weird when you see such an obvious behemoth! Imo You think from the 90s how possibly could they use him? No one so over powered has been successful since Superman. That's 1st impressions. Still if he's been read for a 37 issue run of appearances, it would still be nice to hear if they are being successful On the face of it it is which can be good and bad.

His 1-900? Understandable. I'm not big into spec sites and I don't really "follow" hype, but having 90s experience, I could tell by the character that's just part of the fun of comics. But no hate on my part I unfortunately look at it though as "running out of ideas", which unfortunately I found more depressing

And maybe I misspoke. I know I've had it at least happen upon grading the category becoming universal while other were moder, not sure if I can check to see it when scanned in. As it might change throughout? I'd be curious what it ends up at regardless

Is that before or after the Secret Avengers story line with Venom? I hadn't heard mention of the character for a while....

I remember disliking it, then went to a con and there literally being like 4 slabs at one dealer. A dealer who had paid for three booths but were all raws. Nothing wrong with that, I bought a few, at the time I thought slabs were easier to carry. Needless to say there were other dealers with a few more slabs, I was easy Pickens and over paid. A tale of whoa but more like woe! Did pick up a midgrade slab strange tales #115 at that con not a total loss... but that preparation h story line!

Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???
ADAMANTIUM replied to Wally's Comics's topic in Comics General
He said there was some kind of Director of Excellence or something like that. That's kind of what I took from your op, thought maybe those were all lists of replacements just with a new title. I just didn't want to be tangential, but to the point, hope it works out! Something, anything. Idk what their rate of error was before, but now EVERYTHING IS POSTED with the same surrounding "issues". No pun intended, and yet, it'll take many days without an issue to turn the tide it seems. Pressure is real, and so is sending to cgc sometimes. I've been used to most of the anxiety, having hesitated back from 2014 submitting to LCS's until back in 2016 when i got an account, and yet, it was worked out mostly. I'd assume this will to, question is when. -
There is the 1st app hook of a cover, you could see lady desthstrike involved. Who has always been somewhat intertwined with the weapon X experiments, so one could fathom its desirability even if to read and throw in the trash? Lol I'm one of those few who own a slabbed copy of the origin of deathstike, both for the cover and the feud with Wolverine, rivaling only sabretooth probably.

What in the is this? It’s like the Incredible Hulk, Wolverine, and the Punisher had a baby. Idk but he can whistle real good!

kudos for taking it in stride the, just that, Idk it meaning anything else, or I have never "heard" it meaning anything else, but again, I have experienced this where all say modern and one says universal I tried to find an example but may have been over 8 months ago, maybe @CGC Mike would know? idk who else to tag with experience, but you've at least waited a minute before tagging
-
purple is restored green is qualified blue is universal "why does it say that instead of 'modern?" idk preference? wouldn't think too much of it though I doubt it means anything bad, or I wouldn't thinks so
-
universal is what is on a blue label... Look at any blue label, and you'll see the word universal across the top of it

This Week in your Collection - Moderns ONLY
ADAMANTIUM replied to showcase4's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Got a 15% off coupon for my bday from Half Price Books, but at the time there really wasn't anything I needed nor wanted. The coupon expires tomorrow, so went at lunch to double check one last time. Safe to say it's all good, as even with 8.25% Texas sales tax, came away at sticker price of $10. For the actual comic not tpb I like it because when I got back into collecting in 2014 ot thereabouts, this cover was on the first tpb I bought to see if I was still into this comic stuff It looked nearest the 90's that I remembered haha, so to see Deadpool explode and scattered street rooftop wide and regenerate was a synch to coming back to comics! -

ADAMANTIUM replied to wytshus's topic in CGC Registry (Comics)

Just to confirm the "Best Custom Set" is considered a major category that also receives the plaque and grading credit too right? If so is the plaque sent to address on file? I only humbly ask because some of these other sets are next level! Thanks! yes! And $500 credit, and the CGC slab giveaway!! Everyone on the list gets a plaque The Best Forumites get a plaque as well, but they don't receive any of the "other stuff" It all gets sent to the address on file @wytshus It might be beneficial to spell all that out again, I looked for a link to the list of prizes, but didn't see one. Just wanted to be clear, best forumites get the plaque only, but every "set that wins" is a plaque and all of the above! -

What's your progress on 2022 CGC signings?
ADAMANTIUM replied to woznia17's topic in The Signature Room
Since you were kind enough to encourage me, I'll quote to lament, I window bagged for Bagley, but I didn't leave near enough room for the remarque and signature. It wasn't a slab otherwise they'd put it in the CGC window bag with ample room, but since it was raw I felt obligated to try and send a window bag Also, my Bagley book checked in today as received... Hope yours does soon as well. An interesting note, it wasn't clickable to see what book they had entered so I called. Lady nervously said, " ummm ASM 361 I see?" I asked if it said Australian and she replied again nervously, but kudos for it being all correct and a sigh of relief! On to the future! -
idk if real

Oh I know it to be true. Even myself, I've not had a lot of "need" to become worldly minded, except on purpose. I know Sidney, Melbourne, and one other town in Aussie town, but would be hard pressed to name another off the top of my head. Greystanes etc. The TV here usually only mentions it in tidbits with 30 second excerpts. Unless it be the Queen RIP. We have 'culture' but it tends to be self-involved, and or, tailored to what we actually hear about it 😂

Need to sell small group of Bronze Age books
ADAMANTIUM replied to aabruzzese's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Is there a Sell Your books thread or something? I am just about ready to send in my first submission so I will be doing a paid membership shortly. There is on the boards in the forum list, but he was referring (mcs) to mycomicshop.com , which is located in Texas. They are pretty good at doing the heavy lifting to sell raws and slabs, and they'll handle any disgruntled buyers to basically just send you a check when it sells. I know they do consignment, I'm not sure how they are when just buying outright
