Return on a signature taking forever?
ADAMANTIUM replied to Sammyk0130's topic in The Signature Room
Ya I vaguely remember there being one available and under events with cgc, was just curious as it is not there now, which lead me to believe a deadline to have books in, but then cgc usually has it soon after when under "their events" so I was looking to see the wording or clauses with fine print Own edification and run on sentence I'm sure -

Return on a signature taking forever?
ADAMANTIUM replied to Sammyk0130's topic in The Signature Room
I looked, did cgc inhouse do a signing with Jackman? or someone else facilitating? -
haven't seen you post in a while. If "renewing" specifically, yes to save $20, then also yes because if it is the premium membership you'd get the credit to use in a years time. I would, because of emergency grading. Within a year time from bin diving I at least find one or two that I want to send. That said, I mostly buy slabs, but then I'd want the cushion to buy raws with the credit! I AM mostly a slab collector (don't often sell them) so bear that in mind. If you're comfortable with raws and waiting then do that, but it really is your mode of collecting that "I think" would determine.

Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???
ADAMANTIUM replied to Wally's Comics's topic in Comics General
I guess on both of ours the comic is still between the tab and slab, so I may have misspoke in my previous post. With mine there is not a lot of comic between tab or slab, I'm not really sure what is keeping it from moving inward toward the tab though. Idk It is weird. I tried to see if it would move over, but it IS in there pretty snug. Type your innuendo here. eek -
Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???
ADAMANTIUM replied to Wally's Comics's topic in Comics General
I can only speak to mine or my TMNT, but. Same size case as a normal modern comic, nothing new in size just positioned to the right. At first I thought that too, "oh snap they put it in a magazine case", but no, I wouldn't have even noticed the new inner well...however I've seen the tab on the back before to "keep a comic" from doing whatever, but what strikes me as odd, is that tab usually lays over the comic or the comic is between the tab and the case. @CGC Mike that said and being the "case" no pun intended, these positioned alt right seem like if shaken comic syndrome were to happen would slip under the "tab" if there is room in this one causing damage. Unless this tab has no room between it and the case. All very confusing. Edit added the pic -
Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???
ADAMANTIUM replied to Wally's Comics's topic in Comics General
Ya it threw me off, as there wasn't really a "reason" that I knew of for mine, only found one other at the time on eBay to compare it too. I agree or would say it seems random. -
ah been so long since I read the 1st post I forgot for a second

I can just hear the Ebay Buyers now making claims of seller sending the "wrong book" This sounds like a market place nightmare, if it was exactly the same or am I missing something? @Jesse-Lee

The twentieth of July ie tomorrow, you'll get confirmation when you get your pm from CGC mike, I've received mine -
True. In an example of what may prevail, I think it will be more to the individual interests for a long time to come, due to there being so much of this within the hobby, ie., labeling of categories with apps and registry sets and etc The rest I wrote, because it was good for me to come to an understanding of what order I collected More therapy than rant, but here as further examples in spoiler!

In short. What WAS notated by cgc were "price newsstand editions" and some newsstand editions as an exception, but when now every "regular newsstand" is an "edition." It is a bit convoluted and kind of spoils any nuance. Edit to say, unless we are thinking there is no such thing as a "regular newsstand" from the beginning? In that the direct "editions" word is now being added to the term on the newsstand? The question of, "why is it a newsstand?" Will be here for quite some time. Not to complicate things, because it is already complicated

Thanks. It feels like the right time to get this kind of video done, since CGC announced newsstand labeling last year, but they haven't put them on the CGC Census yet. It was 5 years ago when some generic information was posted on Newsstand101.com (and DirectEdition101.com) but I doubt if it has gotten the kind of viewing that a short video on YouTube could manage. Plus, I've only recently learned how to make videos. Because no one asked, but to offer another point of view: I bought what was available and seemingly comfortably priced at the time, back when it was neck and neck. A few newsstands would end up higher, everyone assumed but asked why, and I think that led to some sticking in higher price. I still somehow think that the higher newsstand price is few and far between, especially when looking at a bigger picture. It is still the thrill of the hunt for me, which sometimes means taking what is AVAILABLE (and whatever that entails price and etc)... being content with what you end up with. I buy newsstand "price editions", as cgc labeled those long ago, but I'm collecting them just because it is unique and stand alone within newsstands. idk though, there were still nuances with those, that I remember most sought the early 2000s, but those are seemingly so scarce for me that I'm comfortable enough in the hunt post 2010. They may be correctly labeled or not, but it is "different enough" that eventually Lord willing they will have their own niche. Long rant to vent.
