    The cover is by Chiodo

Stevens inks the first story, three pages.

awesome, I may leave raw and use as a back cover pic for a Stevens book then...

Idk if you do the registry here, is that book even in a slot? It isn't under three dimensional, nor Dave Stevens and etc, I haven't been able to find it is what I mean....

    If you knew where?

It is complete with the glasses, but idk

  2. question?

Three Dimensional Alien Worlds 1 in Comic Books & Memorabilia | eBay

Is the Three Dimensional Dave Stevens?

I had heard rumored that no it isn't, apps list him as either inker or penciler, but I haven't found CGC note and it isn't in the registry under Dave Stevens....

Figuring there is a reason for that as prolific the artist is, age of the Dave Stevens sets, and the thoroughness of passionate collectors.

But could it be that "inker or penciler" doesn't qualify as a "cover of Daves" but he is associated with it nonetheless? @F For Fake or anyone else lol

I remember seeing this on the spinner rack at Krogers and even though I wasn’t “smart” about comics, I knew Ditko created Spider-Man. “OMG it’s the next Spider-Man!” Spoiler: He was not the next Spider-Man.

    Spoiler

But ocifer, I wasn't speeding, but racing down To Buy "speedballs!"

    Officer: Excuse me?

"Ya I bought it from the LCS!! It is the next Spider-man!"

Yeah, I don't know that book but that's the Spirit on the cover. Denny Colt's the man.

I wasn't as familiar with it either, it strikes me in art that pops up from now and then, for example reminds me of x-force #116. Pastels

I was thinking some of the other characters represented but can't remember all of them, and it's not a story book to take off in ongoing either. Lol

I could mention something like squirrel girl, but then you never know!

The Venus was $100, but was quoted $75 as his best price

    and the Vamp was $150

Those prints are available on etsy by a DS seller for $35 free shipping if anyone is interested

    Awesome 💯

That too can be a factor.

Hard to believe if they were copper age prints that they'd still be so cheap! So thanks for the heads up!

I don't remember a lot of prints as I perused areas as a kid, rarely got to visit LCS or cons if at all. I was still aware of them though as the 90's and upward and everything became cards, prints, holograms, 3d foil and or etc

  6. "Let no one despise your youth!" 1 Timothy 4:12 king james version , I think is in the Bible.

The parents I lived with were firm believers but lived loose, as a child I thought ok what do I do with that info?

I was more strict on myself for straying. I'd visit other parent who was always looking to the Bible for every decision before making it.

I was caught in the middle. My books as a kid concerned mostly copper, so I cant contribute, but to say I trashed a Marvel Spotlight #5 because I bought it raw and read it. I was raised well enough, which is no excuses for my own mistakes, of the two trains of thought I do prefer the straight and narrow now!

Sometimes we think it fun or novelty to read fiction, but some facts are out there that are equally disturbing lol

  7. We're the prices the reason you passed?

No judgment, I've been in that kind of way when happening upon something. Still glad you showed the pics!

I figured that's why there are pics but no acquisitions. Always nice to see stuff in the wild, and we don't have a "things not often found in the wild" thread for copper, only modern lol

Dumb question...I can see JSA authenticating signatures, but what the heck do they do with sketches?

They don't "authenticate sketches", and that's all we've been able to determine.

Something about the sketch disrupting the grade of the book now affects the label determination, and regardless of the other things that are authenticated yay or nay, but which also affect the label. :)

Somehow the sketches that aren't up for authentication can still affect label designation depending on if the sketch affects the book: (grade, condition, or other) criteria but those effects aren't laid out yet (thumbsu

It could be that proper authentication requires complete removal of the comic

JSA employs the Video Spectral Comparator (VSC) to reinforce the expert's findings. This state-of-the-art authentication tool is a powerful workstation that uses sophisticated color and infrared imaging, magnification, coaxial lighting, side lighting, and on-screen, side-by-side or overlaid autograph comparisons. In doing so, the VSC can detect erasures, reveal masked and obliterated signatures, differences in ink types, and several other signs common in autograph forgeries which cannot be detected by the naked eye.

I wish Kirby was around to draw the Video Spectral Comparator

Well that makes more.sense than all that supposing I did :roflmao:

I really do not want to not bite the hand that feeds, because I'm more inclined to enjoy cgc jumping in, rather than down the move.

Yes it took 20 years to gain momentum , confidence, market availability etc.

I'm sure that within another 20 years there is room for improvement lol

I'm not discouraging the conversation, just the reality that is in my brain. Even if they reholder authentication in five years, then they get the submissions from reholders and an announcement etc. Nothing is perfect in life, although we encourage ideas for improvement, always.

The guy who suggested this in the office one day with the chart graph is wanting to walk back in for a promotion a year from now!

Doesn't mean they don't care, just what it took for them to even take up the idea without getting to ideological.
