I just found this issue it's the Black and White X-men variant with a blue holo. I would guess this one is extremely rare compared to the rest. Do you think cgc will give it the distorted holo note?

I have all the regular covers in slab formation, this one and also the gold are the last 2 I need. Saving for comic con at the moment, but regardless,  I hope you found it cheap enough to make do with whatever profit or whenever profit, if you feel like keeping it and for how long lol

I feel you have a ^^ on your hands!

    Pretty obvious answer.

Anything could have happened to it since it left CGC's hands. I'd be more concerned if they didn't regrade it, especially with all the book swapping going on.

By obvious answer you mean CGC gets paid. This is no different than any other reholder…

… if it appears tampered or damaged then absolutely regrade, otherwise authenticate the signature and not force the owner to risk regrade.

I bet you someone like Heritage won’t be risking regrading for a book like this.

In all fairness in any reholder situation they were supposed to examine for damage, which they were not in the reholder scandal.

So I agree with @Iconic1s and I kind of lean toward agreeing with cgc from a business standpoint, as it does seem normal for them to do. I don't think I'll ever get a perfect rationale for it, but I don't mean a "cgc as a business would do", I mean any business would do that happens to be CGC this go around.

Like it flowing downhill from management that isn't expressed in a clear thought and that is is why it comes off as a money making decision, which may be true too, but again I don't think they're defining anything at the moment but trying to organize to roll it out.

Reholder authentication sounds like someone under the top brass might suggest at some point, but now would not be the time to correct the boss lol

So what I mean is rationally I agree with iconic but am sympathetic to those that are doing the footwork to roll it out.

This rollout was a major decision and their dotting i and crossing t

I sent a book to be signed via Signature Series and the date to have them received by is May 31st. I also had the book pressed by CCS. The status of the submission just updated to 'Received by CCS' today. Should I worry about the pressing being done in time for the signing?

The submission was for the pressing and signing together.

I only ask because I have heard horror stories and I'm just trying to ease my thoughts. Thanks all!

No pressing never has happened before the signing, I assure you. What it is, is the submission tracking shows at ccs:

    1) because cgc has received your order

    2) cgc has to keep track of it while it is there

    3) you paid for pressing

    4) therefore it is logged into that department as it should originate there after the signing.

@MattM CS Same question, different thread, but is where it was "asked 1st" and didn't get tagged, but again I mentioned it in the post when I did tag and ask that time. Now Lord willing all questions should have a reply I believe.

It was also a different boardie who had asked here, so I wanted to be sure to quote him. He was further up this page :)

How do inscriptions work in regard to authentication and grading? For example, if a book has "Excelsior! Stan Lee" or "To James, thanks! JRJR" is just the signature looked at and authenticated/graded, or are all written words looked at. If the signature is perfect, but "Excelsior!" is not, would that negatively impact the grade?

I wonder how this will affect Regular Signature Submissions.

If an artist is at a con doing a regular signing at desk for one price and a special CGC private signing at a different higher price do you think it affect regular

It is "possible" I suppose, could be considered by the competition slabbing companies that fee is already established, but I wouldn't blame nor put it past anyone to use it as a "reason" to do so.

Great guest list! Hope CGC changes their mind and comes to Dallas to accept submissions.

    Ikr 🤣

And idk if there is a last announcement today, but Fan Expo Dallas alluded to it being a big name! I hope there is also enough contributors when I start a con thread! I know some people can't make it this year as far as people I know personally, so will be an adventure! Lord willing y'all will enjoy and or get some pics!

Mine is marked as received and stored securely in their facility, but it is not SFG yet.

    Whew! Same here, thanks. :)

Just to be clear, the package shows up on the tracking as stored at facility but not on your submissions page at all yet, ok cool.

FYI books used to not go directly to sfg when "received", they showed up first on the submissions page AS received then sfg.

So it's verbiage for me lol

As mine were a day before yours arrival, but cgc hasn't logged them in yet, I suppose is normal but again with recent posts I wasn't sure eek.

That must of ticked off @Jordysnordy:roflmao:@ADAMANTIUM did you a favor though.  Someone in theory, could have come in and tied you with a complete description and dethroned your #1 spot!:tonofbricks:

In all honesty lol I debated posting as you're number three and again y'all were free spirited, and I didn't want to ruin it, it is why I mentioned cordial.

He did win in 2016 anyway, so maybe with the "right stuff" ??? Maybe they'll consider someone else if done up fabulous 😂

I don't pretend to know all the avenues things get chosen though, I try with my sets :roflmao:

There is a #1 SS on Clink I may go for. I have been annoyed for years that I am #3 on the registry by like 2 points!:roflmao:

lol it is a nice copy.
The OCD in me tells I do need to upgrade my #1 SS if I can find a WP copy.

lol awesome that y'all are so cordial despite being in the set at the top 3 spots, and speaking of, why does #6 not have a description? @Jordysnordy I do admire that the set has won some notice, and I'm glad for competition, I do remember when this thread 1st started (or one of them) and thinking that it was a battle royal.

Reading @Xenosmilus descriptions in set, I can tell all y'all are true godzilla fans :)

Can I resubmit comics with a CGC Qualified green label for JSA autograph authentication?

Yes. Autographed comics with a CGC Qualified green label are eligible for CGC x JSA certification. Submit these books under an applicable grading tier and select “JSA Autograph Authentication” as an add-on service. JSA will determine if the autograph is genuine, and CGC will regrade and encapsulate the comic.

So if I submit a qualified label slab, the book will be regraded and I'll be charged a grading fee in addition to the authentication fee?

    I believe so
