You should definitely Google or search cgcs home page, as I know they grade older concert posters, but to what extent idk. Whether modern or new? Or how they classify what to slab, short answer is yes though.

I still somewhat get that at the LCS, I more get it here when people are willing. I'm still a bottom feeder trying to build a base, price line or otherwise, in the end I'm thankful for all stories told. Been a lot of Faithful boardies!

I remember bargain based slabs being blown out for $25 before eBay taxes etc. What is the baseline now? That er um costs went up? I sent in commons at first hint of price increase, and hoped the baseline would help;?! Made it before the next two price increases... Its a general thought that may be more up @valiantman alley with statistics, and if no one instantly knows I'm ok being told to take a hike it was just a thought I had, knowing things like star wars dark empire #2 still sells for $20 at auction, that's some rubber meet road.

Hmmmm that is a tough. A lot to go into. I'm not sure you would have a lot of 9,8's if it's your childhood collection. They might be high-grade but not specifically 9.8 without a press, which is an added cost, but again, also doesn't always guarantee anything. That said, there is such a thing as a certain pin point grade that you can send in and if it doesn't grade that or higher, cgc will slab the qualifiers for less send back the rejects. That's called a prescreen and has a 25 book minimum. No THAT said for moderns at $25 a book that's a lot of dough for a 25 book min. To me I'd use your eye and try to find a small batch that you find pleasing and send in a test few. If you're familiar enough with grading, the costs should juve, and yet costs went up twice already last year, that is the rub. It's been a tough market.
